Glenn Hughes, New Release- Resonate Check it out! https://youtu.be/iRsI-L6F0P8 N ps- Thanks arcamm88 for the GH update |
ghosthouse, I agree, Glenn is definitely channeling Deep Purple. Also Chad Smith appears on drums on tracks 1 and 11. Has anyone ever heard this cover from Glenn? Roxanne, by The Police. https://youtu.be/ppdqN9zOow8 N |
I like to mix it up. Today Im into power ballads! Shinedown, "Crow and Butterfly" Check out Shaman's Harvest. They pull off a pretty cool rendition of Jacksons "Dirt Diana". https://youtu.be/1NHV6NUEKNU N |
dustin_collman I actually saw The Firm in concert in Cincinnati when they toured. Jimmy and Paul were amazing. They played Kashmir! The Bassist Chris Slade has been around as well. If you like Dokken, check out Lynch Mob. It is a solo project of George Lynch the lead guitarist of Dokken. The first CD, Wicked Sensation is really good. arcamm88, Good call on Golden Earing. Love the band. Also thanks for the recommendation on Nazareth, "Rampant". N |
Last week arcamm88 recommend Golden Earring " Tits and Ass". I'm a big GE fan but have not listened to T&A until today. I also recommend it! I have heard a lot of their music but they have over 40 albumns! Formed in 1961, they have been around longer than The Rolling Stones. So if you get a chance to check out some of their other music, besides Moontan, do it. Here is a very good example of some of their tallent. "Going to the Run" Live, acoustic. https://youtu.be/sLOLS6GYbbY N |
Candlebox, Disappearing in Airports The latest effort from 2016 is very good. Solid effort again from the Seattle based band. Listen to "God's Gift". https://youtu.be/ZtVy6Mtf7_0 N |
Check this out. 70’s power trio featuring Vinnie Appice, (Carmine’S brother) on drums. I like " Brown Eyes" and "Train". Axis, It’s a Circus World. https://youtu.be/Aoaq7VLh64o https://youtu.be/mHJKTL59vI4 N |
Joe Satriani, various. However I came across this on YouTube. Apparently Joe Satriani, Greg Kihn and drummer Jeff Campatelli briefly formed a pop band called The Squares. Campatelli was named as a top 50 best drummers by Rolling Stone Ragazine. Here is a sample. https://youtu.be/xfRzuV8w0uM N |
uberwaltz, Yes, indeed Mike Portnoy is impressive. Some more Prog-Rock for you. I'm currently listening to his Liquid Tension Experiment. John Petrucci, Jordan Rudas, Tony Levin, and Mike just jamming. Check out "Chewbacca" it will test your low frequency range. https://youtu.be/8_wuvze-HI0 N |
I have one off tbe deep end! Daddy Mack Blues Band, Fix it when I can, " I don't understand you Baby". https://youtu.be/BKNXFzAiNrw N |

ghosthouse, You are correct! Against the Grain is fantastic. I've heard it before but it has been a while. I really like the keyboards on this one. Have you heard Defender? Check it out if you have not. It's good, though maybe not a good as some of his other work. I really like "I ain't no Saint". Next- earlier in the thread Arcamm88 recommended Michael Sweet "One Sided War". I Highly recommend it as well. Listened to it twice yesterday. Solid thru and thru. Check out "Radio". Great recording. Great guitarist! Great vocalist. https://youtu.be/0GmnxA8lVyY Next from 1992, I listened to Lynch Mob S/T. Solid disc, great recording. (Though I belive its only available on mp3 now) George Lynch fresh from Dokken. I was fortunate to attend a show at Bogarts in Cincinnati. I like this disc better than "Wicked Sensation", which is great also. Any Lynch fans in the crowd? https://youtu.be/WIpzQI3dhDQ N |
Andy Timmons Band, Resolution (highly recommended) "Beware Dark Days" https://youtu.be/V9YRRhuUnXo Gary Moore, Bad for you Baby Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ledbetter Heights N |
I dusted this one off this morning. From Australia- Angel City, Dark Room They have 30+ titles "No Secrets" https://youtu.be/2AxRIa-KySc N |
The Cult, Ceremony Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy are true rock stars! Great CD, on par with Sonic Temple and Electric, IMHO. The title track "Ceremony" https://youtu.be/rR6dYqk0-6E N |
