So sorry to hear of your loss, a lot here have been in the same boat I feel.
The wife lost her mother to lung cancer a few years back although to be fair she was likely the poster child for the surgeon generals warnings on smoking kills at 40 a day for 40+ years.
Still it was a blessing for her when she did finally pass, obviously not so much for the ones she left behind.
Stay strong!
Been a very busy bee this week us cleaning a LOT of older albums that I have had for years.
Now working my way through some of them.

Right now....
Hitch hiking.... Roger Waters.

Next up will be Radio KAOS.

Both spectacular pieces of work.
Good way to end the day.
Abraxas ..... Santana.

mfsl 1-305.

Took a chance on this on eBay as it was a new zero feedback seller, buyers are usually well protected.
I got my monies worth. It looks and sounds like it has never been played.

Sublime.

Earl Klugh ... Finger Paintings mfsl 1-025 to follow.
Greg
That sounds like a great plan...in theory, lol.
One heck of a lot of work!
Obviously started on the A,s.
I would say you have a long way to go ☺️
Good to hear on the mofi Dire Straits 45rpm albums as I ordered two on Sunday amongst other mofi albums, should be here Saturday it says.
Hope they are as good as everybody says...….
Question for the pros here.
Does anybody buy into the Better Records white hot stamper creed?

Trying to correlate their stated “testing methods” with logic, economics and good old common sense just does not add up.

Thoughts?
Brother Slaw.
i believe your words of wisdom finally sank n.
What is the point having superlative vinyl playback and then throw a diet of $1 records at it!

Culled a lot of crap over last few weeks and performed research on mfsl titles.
Now some I already did have but yes I have added to the collection and have about 11 more on the way ( bought 8 on Sunday direct from mofi).

Its addictive.......
Regarding WHS I just do not see how it can even be accomplished on any economically viable business model.
Calculate the copies one has to sift through in regards to time spent and dollars spent to find one or two WHS?
I personally cannot wrap my head around it being a workable project.
Which is why I have serious doubts about the whole concept and will never be pursuing that route.

Tomic..... I think Mohawks on a Ferrari would likely be a good idea for me on the track, keep my speed down!😎😎
Greg
If you are running out of room to store records you do know what the correct solution is..... buy more racking! 😇

Btw I am listening to Richie Kotzen right now who probably sounds more like Chris Cornell than Chris Cornell does!
Good stuff.
Slaw
You would be most welcome under much different circumstances my friend!
And one more delivered by the USPS so will make a start on them after dinner.

What do you think of the Cadenza mono?
I was loaned the Cadenza black and I had tried it before on my old Nottingham table where it did not impress.
This time around on the 401 and Micro Seiki arm it was really enjoyable and deeply considering buying it.
Its going to be a great weekend considering the current climate.
My pile of mofi records were just delivered one day early.
Whoopee!
I did find the cadenza black responded well to tiny tweaks in setup as well.

The higher up the food chain with a better stylus the more you can get out of them with these small changes in setup I think.

Our Walmart STOPPED carrying CD about 18 months ago, I remember creating a thread about it here.
Then about 1 year ago they STARTED carrying lps, very comical actually to me.
And yes most of the albums do have specially enhanced for Walmart claims t them as well.
To be fair prices are reasonable and one day they may actually have something I want.
I know the Cadenza Black is/was a tracking demon and never missed a beat while I used it even on some very slightly warped albums.
Tracking was best at 2.1g if I remember correctly.
Well I had never heard of this album before today.
It is mint in every aspect so a nice buy.

Italian X Ray's ..... Steve Miller Band.

And the SQ is excellent.
On another note (sic) Pandora sounds pretty good streamed on my phone and through my iem while riding the lawn tractor.
Not so much of a chore tbh.
Spock's Beard radio station, some darn good stuff.

The BAT is now warming up so some records shortly!
The Cadenza tracked fine all the time, it was the Karat Ruby that was giving me some issues until I discovered my FUBAR.

Think it's time to put the Koetsu back on, the Scheu has had a good long run that has reminded me of what a great cart it really is and why I was very happy with it to begin with.

All this after the honeydew list of course.
Lawn therapy next up☹️☹️
Greg
Pandora is great for headphone and the car. TBH I found it about 7 years ago but had no idea it was what we now call a streaming service.
It was an app on my Samsung smart TV and I signed up and kept it ever since.
I think it's AI is at least on a par with Spotify, it rarely plays anything I hate on my created stations of which I have many!

But enough streaming talk here, brother Slaw might keel over!😁😁
Slaw
I thought you was joking.....
You need to Google it as I would get a slapped wrist from Agon for saying what it stands for.... Lol

It's just a saying when something has gone wrong and usually self inflicted.
Certainly in my case......
Slaw
After about an hour the BAT is sounding very good but yes it does get better and better as the evening wears on.
Should probably think on and turn it on first thing in the morning.

Is ATO a label or pressing plant or?
Can't say as I have heard of it.
Tomic
The BAT is tubes so.......
The Phonostage is ss and is on 24/7.
The FUBAR was something else but it showed up at the Karat more than any other cart.

Slaw
Yes we know you and we always good!
Don't you just love it when you have fairly low expectations of an album then it blows your mind in both SQ and musicality!

High Crimes .... Al Jarreau
Edge of the Century .... Styx.

Not one of their better known albums but one I do like.
However the sq stinks, sounds like it is being played back through a wet blanket. Very disappointing.
The Qobuz streamed version sounds a LOT better so it’s not the base recording rather the production or mastering on the vinyl.
Back to semi reality next week and off to work, think the wife will be glad to see me gone from the house.
Fortunately no 3 am start as choice of flights is very limited, 11.16am is my flight so even get a lie in.... lol.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer .... S/T and Trilogy.
Ignition .... John Waite.
Crazy For You ..... Earl Klugh.

Both of these albums have simply spectacular SQ that in all honesty puts the majority of my mfsl albums to shame.
Tomic
Never my friend.... lol
Just trying to impress on how good those two albums are sonically.

Oh and they were $1 each.......🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The plate glass trick should work.
I was always wary of putting in the oven but as I live in Florida with a huge outdoor oven I just leave mine outside in the sun for a few hours.
Very scientific I know but has worked so far.......
When this all slows down a little we are still planning on visiting Friday Harbour this year so maybe it can be a giant pub crawl!
Will be flying into Seattle most likely and out back home from Portland.
If their is any air service left by then......
Tomic, Slaw.

Of course you have to take into account that my flattener is the patented "UberMiser Flattener"
Once you have the two pieces of plate glass the running costs are absolutely zero as it is a green application using solar power.
Grants have been applied for and aid from the Corona Virus fund but for some strange reason I was not approved......
Thx Slaw.

I will take you up on the invite one day but not next week I fear.
