My bad Slaw.
I was referring to the actual content and the quality of the original recording, not the quality of the box set pressing itself.

I am not a huge Hendrix fan I must admit but do far there has not been much sparkle to the recordings. Not much to hold my interest for long if that makes sense.

However as mine is also an original first pressing at slightly more than you paid,I am not upset in any monetary sense.

Just was maybe hoping for more.
Had it a while and never played anything off it until recently.

@Reubent

Yes it is indeed.
White punks on dope is an all time classic.
Was going through the record racks today, tidying and culling and all The Tubes at the end of my T section so........
Would have loved to see The Tubes live as it sounds like they were having a blast on stage.
A show and a half I’m sure.
Reubent.

It's an album I just decided to cull..
😂😂

Oh well.....

Ziggy Stardust ..... David Bowie
@reubent
Fraid so....lol
Its not a bad album overall and if my copy was in better shape it might stay, however it is pretty beat and very noisy even after US cleaning so to the outbox it goes.

That's my second step in culling, to play test the ones I have doubts about.
Still just over 800 albums on vinyl, next job is to go through my cassettes.
Then my CD,s.

Too much time on my hands I know but gratefull my company is pretty understanding of this whole situation.
Dayglow.
I sometimes wish my taste range was wider than it is.
However I must say thanks to this forum it is a heck of a lot more diverse than it was 7 years ago.

Reubent.

Did you ever get to see The Tubes Live?
Must have been one heck of a show!
Man that would have been some show!
Sort of like Alice Cooper meets Rocky Horror!
Awesome.
I actually pulled out that same Savoy Brown album yesterday and went to play it but saw it was very dirty so into the US clean pile it went.
Another advantage of this enforced downtime is it is making me clean more albums than I have in the past as back then I did not have the US cleaning setup.
Been listening to a lot of jazz/fusion/funk of late.
Think along the lines of.....
Stanley Clarke, Earl Klugh, Al Jarreau, David Grisman,  Back Door etc.
One thing they all have in common is excellent production and SQ.

Try School Days by Stanley Clarke if you want to test the bass response of your system.
Highly addictive!
Just been perusing fleabay for mofi albums.
My God, some of the prices?
Is $1200 for Abraxas serious or??

Be sticking with some of my worn versions for a while longer  I fear.
Slaw
Will be checking Music Direct out later my friend!

Boxer
Unfortunately with the “vinyl revival “there is a lot of that around.
Even my lrs has raised his prices nearly 100% in the last year.
I guess I cannot blame him for maximizing his profits but still not a turn for the better for myself...lol
Slaw.
It is quite sublime.
The only pity is the cost of these mofi albums
Please keep the suggestion coming though..... I did get my stimulus cash in the bank.... lol
A little special this one, for me at least.

I Robot .... Alan Parsons Project
MFQR 1-084

wow........
Slaw
I only have one copy of DSOTM
But I think its the right one....lol
mfqr 1-017

Outrageous prices being asked for this version right now, upwards of $500.... gulp!

Tomic
Do not think for one second I paid remotely anything close to that amount for it... Lol.
Us Brits are renowned penny Pinchers!

Found it in a dusty old record store in Fargo ND quite a few years back.
It was still spendy for the time but let's just say did not break three figures.....
Tomic
Yes I agree they are my favorite people right about now!
I got more today than I thought was out for delivery.
11 new to me albums.

Slaw will be pleased to know that with his prodding I resolved my lack of Journey albums, now have 5 new to me on record.
Slaw
Gary Moore is one of the most underrated guitarists of our age IMHO.

Loved his work with Lynott but possibly his solo work was his real legacy to blues rock.
Greg
But Gorham And Robertson were a wicked guitar duo in their own right.
And Jailbreak is just an absolute classic.
Slaw
i had a quick look at md this morning.
i may well place an order, have not bought anything from them before though.
Living the Dream .... Uriah Heep.

This is another album that should have been a double lp set.
28 minutes squeezed onto each side does not equal sonic delight!!
Not really Brian
But that's the only place for a decent size TT so had to remove the 401 so I could test out the Avid and for drrsutliff to set it up correctly.
It was that or the floor.....😇

Looking at what's involved in building my "double wide" right now...🤔
Slaw
I just double checked and I sent you my correct current email address.
Most odd.....
WHAT?????
When did Pete Way pass?
Very Sad indeed.
Was sitting looking at some UFO tapes earlier.
Just read about it, hung n for couple months, a fighter till the end.
RIP Pete Way.

Guess it has to be UFO, Fastway and Waysted later then.
Hello all, hope your weekend is going well.
Had a wonderful week of just listening to music, tweaking stuff and tidying up the system.
But my biggest change that has me grinning ear to ear was to my 401.
Namely to the stock platter.
$650 plus for an aftermarket one?
Hmm, let’s see.
$18 and 15oz of weight added and now nearly as inert as petrified wood, no ringing when I rap my knuckles on it now.

Bass weight and depth is out of this world, the soundstage has grown by a goodly amount, very happy.

Livin on the Fault Line by The Doobie Brothers is sounding mighty fine to my ears.

Take care all and stay safe!
