Rare Earth - "Live"
Man, I wish I could go back in time and see those shows. Some tasty stuff...... |
Roger McGuinn - "Back From Rio" |
@uberwaltz - You know I love The Tubes. And "What do you want from Live" is their best..... |
Tears for Fears - "The Hurting" - I've loved it since I first heard it in 1983......
Kevin, I like "Gold Plated". Been in my semi-regular rotation for more than 40 years. |
@uberwaltz - What? You culled "Gold Plated"? Say it ain't so......... ;~)
I've always like it. Especially like the cuts - "Mighty Fire" and "Rolling Home", but generally like the whole album. |
Gary Wright - "The Dream Weaver" Uriah Heep - "The Best of....." XTC - "English Settlement" Steely Dan ' "Aja"
Well, you know I like culling, so we're all good...... |
Red House Painters - "Songs for a Blue Guitar" Heaven 17 - S/T Glan Hansard - "Drive All Night" 45 RPM EP Pete Townshend - "White City"

@noromance - I bought that Timbuk 3 album back in '86 when it was released. Still enjoy it. Feels like it's about time for its annual spin..... Thanks for the reminder. |
Catching up on some stuff that was recently posted by others. Starting with.....
The Tubes - "What Do You Want From Live" - Thanks for the reminder @uberwaltz
@uberwaltz - Yep, I saw The Tubes live twice. Once, shortly after "What do you want from Live" was recorded and once again in the early '90s. That first show was something else. I was a teenage farmboy in 1979, fresh off the farm, when I saw them at Veteran's Memorial Hall in Columbus, Ohio. What a night! |
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - "Deja Vu"
Timbuk 3 - "Greetings from Timbuk 3" - Thanks for the reminder @noromance |
I saw Alice Cooper (and Rocky Horror Show) back in the day too. Many similarities, but The Tubes were better musically and more raw. It was a good time, for sure.... |
Elton John - "Tumbleweed Connection" and "Honky Chateau"
The Cannonball Adderley Quintet - "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" Capitol T 2663 mono
The Doobie Brothers - "Minute by Minute"
Sting - "The Dream of the Blue Turtles"
Alan Parsons Project - "I Robot"
The Who - "Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy"
A hand-me-down from a family friend. In pretty poor condition. But hey, it's the Who..... |
Steely Dan - "The Royal Scam" |
Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives - "Way Out West" |
Chip Taylor - "This Side of the Big River"
@bdp24 - Yep, great band and front man. They are playing in Cincinnati on March 30 at the beautiful 400 seat Memorial Hall. Unfortunately that's my family Colorado ski trip week and I'm going to miss the show :~( |
@bdp24 - Speaking of Lucinda, and drummers, have you seen Lucinda with her current backing band - Buick 6? The drummer Butch Norton is AWESOME! I've seen them 3-4 times in the last couple of years and Norton, and Buick 6, really bring it. Love their solo set and their work backing Lucinda. |
@bgross
Elton John, “Tumbleweed Connection” & Jayhawks, “Hollywood Town Hall.”
Those are 2 great albums. "Hollywood Town Hall" is one of my all-time favorites. Also, I've always wanted to hear the JMR Twins. Everything I've read about them made them sound like a speaker I would enjoy. |
Jethro Tull - "Crest of a Knave"
Neil Young - "After the Gold Rush"
Bruce Cockburn - "Stealing Fire"
Just back from Plaid Room Records. Score! Got some great stuff. On the TT for lunchtime listening:
Michael Kiwanuka - "Love and Hate" (very nice!)
Scored one of the sold out reissues of Gloria Barnes - "Uptown" . Considering a quality original cost $3K, I might not open this reissue that sold out in a day or two and see what happens to the price. I'm not a collector, per se, and I don't have a single unopened record in my collection. However, I might wait a bit and see what happens to the price of this one. It will probably fall and I'll feel better about opening and playing it......
