Tried out yet another set of 12au7’s in the Trumpet. Amperex made for HP. Nice, but the CBS-Hytron will remain. I’m beginning to understand just how good they are in comparison to others I have.

Sandy Denny -  Gold Dust. Her last concert/recording. UMC/Island 2022 RSD release. Cleaned it twice more, and a bit more acceptable. QC was not great on this pressing, but nice to have none the less.

@slaw

Hey Brian, I got that Sandy Denny/ RSD lp as well. Haven’t listened yet.

Not the greatest recording Steve, or performance, but has some interesting interpretations of some older classics, and enjoyable to hear. Worth having regardless, as it is her last recording. I’m really thinking of returning mine though, as the noise on this pressing in areas is awful. Unfortunate, as no guarantee that a replacement will be better.

@boxer12

Will do Tim, thanks. How’s the new DAC?

The Dead recording brings back memories, I saw them about that time at the University of Indiana when I was going to UC….well, saw them more than a couple times from 75-78

@spiritofradio

Cincinnati is a really nice town.

Well, as a Clevelander, I find/found it an ‘interesting’ town. While I was at UC, I was allowed to help vote Jerry Springer into office as their mayor (met him a couple years later when working on the Cincinnati Union Terminal renovation into a strange shopping center ala Boston’s Faneuil Hall. That didn’t last long). That (Jerry Springer) sure seemed an odd choice a few years later 😁 I still do some work in Cincinnati occasionally, yea, it’s nice. UC has changed quite a bit since the 70’s, but I do enjoy coming home.

@boxer12

Good to hear, hopefully it gets better as it breaks in,

Clark, Hillman, Crosby, McGuinn, Clarke - Byrds. Asylum 1973
