Decided to swap out my Karat 23r for a different cartridge from my collection.
Went back with my old faithful, Scheu Analog SL.
Forgotten just how nice this one is.
What I would term, totally neutral.
Nothing to get excited about, no big fat mid range, no extended top end, no rabble rousing bottom end.
Just everything so right, all music, nothing added.
How it should be, reminds me why I bought it.
Good times.
Well rewind....
Discogs tells me I have Raised on Radio on vinyl, but I don't see it on the shelf.
Interesting......
🤔🤔
Actually seriously I don't, what's up with that!

Got TWO Steve Perry solo albums... lol.

But all my Journey is on CD
Love that Garcia and Grisman piece.
Don't hear it mentioned often.
Thx j_damon!
I love the post office.

Just had a few goodies delivered for my weekend fix.

I have great expectations for this one.

Blackfield V .
2*45rpm 180g album.

For those not familiar with Blackfield it is a Steven Wilson and Aviv Geffen collaboration.

Outstanding on Qobuz so hoping the 45rpm records will have the same SQ.
Anything Steve Wilson touches seems to turn to audio gold IMHO!
His work on all of the King Crimson remasters was , well simply masterful!
😇😇
Read the same this morning Schubert.
Even though it is unconstitutional to do so and possibly not even legal I doubt that will stop them

Forget mail at 50cents and media mail at $2.80.
All will be gone.
Probably $10 minimum for a 2 day service... that will take 4 instead.
Ah ha.
I probably would never have worked that one out!
Thanks for the enlightenment!
Now I can sleep tonight.
Your going to have to spill the beans sooner or later on this whole interconnects and accident fubar.

Someone is keeping busy there Tomic.

Noromance.... I was shocked at the big difference in SQ with what I thought was small spring changes.
I may well play some more yet.
Right now....

Looking In ..... Savoy Brown.

This has never sounded so good, I always thought his vocals were a little muffled and recessed on this album, definitely not now.
A lot of new faces... Welcome all!
I go stream only for a day and we get a new horde...wonder what that says....
😇😇

Anyway start my day with a classic.

Tommy by The Who.
Boxer
side 2 is the bomb.
such incredible sustain he wrings out of that 🎸.
saw him in 1978 back in England.
mind blowing.
Moonflower ... Santana.
One of the finest mixes of studio and live cuts I have ever heard.
This might actually be my oldest currently owned album, hard to remember exactly.

Whatever it's in my top ten for sheer boogie factor in my house!
Hanging in there gto.
all one can do right now.....
and  play lots of music!
Slaw
I would have to contest the sq statement... lol.
imho both the album and the original 2 cd release were very good in that aspect.
Ohh I  said a 2 letter word on a turntable thread.....
Unless my hearing has deserted me.

Busy night guys.
I am NOT a night 🦉.

Maybe some rose tinted spectacles at work on Moonflower with me Slaw.
I could play it over and over.

Right now.

Dare .... The Human League.
Slaw.
Hopefully you will like what you hear.
TWO warped new albums?
That sucks!
I would be very 😡
My " new to me" pile is getting very thin. All charity shops and LRS now closed.
So online shopping only and some of the prices asked on discogs and eBay for what you actually receive really pisses me off.
I can now see my record rack top surfaces!😇😇
Metal Health ... Quiet Riot.

Great music, terrible SQ.

Typical poorly produced for radio rock fodder from the 80/90,s.
I don't doubt your golden ears Slaw.

Moonflower is my most played Santana album by far so it's like The Wall.
I'm now indoctrinated to it even though it may not be the final word in SQ.

I don't have s/t or Abraxas on record, they are on R2R which is another story entirely.

I been lugging Moonflower around since about 1978..... Lol.
No putting up with required.... Lol.

Slaw, you probably never noticed my post on the favorite Audiogon posters thread.
😁😁
Slaw

Just called it as I see it.
And it was no detriment to any of the rest of the band of brothers who post here like Tomic and I hope they realize that.
I fixed my need for a vinyl fix.
Without going into incriminating details our LRS "allowed" select customers to visit while they were cataloguing and hey if anybody happened to see an album or two they liked and had cash...….
Say no more, say no more......
Tomic
Its all good
You are probably better getting it from Slaw as I am sure he is much more on top of the game than I am.
Mine is dead simple and cheap.
I was going to link to the thread where I got my "parts list" from but I cannot find it now...grrr

@drrsutliff

Too funny, I just bought that album today!
Supposed to be near mint so will see when it arrives!
😇😇
Tomic.
I am just doing basic cleaning with that rig but works well enough for me.
Slaw will have a load of tips to help out I am sure, additives, temp, time, filters etc.
Joe Cocker Live.

Brazillian pressing.

Yarp, I’m here Slaw.
Sat night is movie night, have to keep the better half appeased.
Noromance.

Last time I played it, I thought it sounded a little crackly.
So ran it through the us cleaning this morning along with a bunch of albums.

Sounds MUCH better now!
Noromance.

Guilty as charged as well on playing vs cleaning... lol.

Near the Beginning..... Vanilla Fudge
Spirit.

Love Camel.
Have a slew of their albums.

Think Snowgoose is still near my top pick though.
Slaw
i am trying real hard not to get back on the interconnects train!
I sold off all my Nordost cables and just went with Straight Wire for interconnects, Western Electric cable for speaker wire and home made power cables from my own secret sauce.

But I realize I am probably leaving something on the table.
