It’s always something!

Hard to be patient.  Ordered a sofa in April and still no delivery date.
Steve, your mention of Cat Stevens prompted me:

Cat Stevens - Teaser and the Firecat (I need a new copy of this)
Jim,

I am sure you know this but make sure you cover all of your equipment with blankets, plastic …

Just went through a remodel and the dust generated was unbelievable.

Good luck with the upgrade.  I’m sure it will turn out great.

Interesting career having played with Traffic and Hendrix.  I think he’s an excellent guitarist.
@slaw thanks for the tip on the Steve Winwood album.  I will definitely check it out.

Eurythmics - Revenge (free bonus album sent with discogs purchase)
@slaw

I do not have any live albums.  Any I should check out?
Had one of my vintage speakers go out on me.  The guy told me 2 months due to repair backlog.  Emergency Craigslist search found a pair of Sansui SP-2700s for $325.   They sound pretty good!
I just watched a video made by an acquaintance of mine about his time in Vietnam as part of Operation Phoenix.   I have known Roger for about 10 years and I knew he was retired Army but had no idea what he had done during the war.     I am not trying to make any political statement but if you are interested, the interview can be found in the link below. It is almost an hour and 30 minutes.

Thanks for the kudos.   I live in Solana Beach.  Let me know when you return and we can do a ‘home and home’.

Was in your neck of the woods yesterday at Spin Records.

Thanks.  I purchased the entry level Supratek and am quite pleased. The addition of the Accuphase really opened up the Equasound speakers.

I trust you are doing well.
It’s been quite a while.  Hope everyone is doing well.  We went through a major remodel and the two channel room was full of furniture so no music there for about 5 months.  During the process, I replaced my First Watt amp with an an Accuphase P-360.

Connected everything tonight and it sounds great!  Nice to have the room back.

Doobie Brothers - Toulouse Street
Beatle - White Album (Giles Martin reissue)

My crossovers were encased in plastic as advertised.  One crossover was reading more than 10% different than the other one so I decided to have new crossovers built.  The tech that worked on the speakers had to slowly melt the crossovers to get the specs and then he built 2 new crossovers.  He said the smell was pretty bad while melting one of the crossovers!

Joe Jackson - Night and Day
Not many have ever heard of them.  The two founders were from LA and that was their primary market.  I actually purchased my original set in a small stereo shop in eastern Ohio.

Shoulder is perfect - no pain and full range of motion so very happy with the outcome.  Cycling and playing golf with no issues.  Thanks for asking.
Everything is broken in now.  Just purchased a vintage pair of Equasound speakers. I owned these speakers from 1971 until 1990 and then sold them.  Always regretted that sale and began looking for them again about 5 years ago.  The company went out of business in the early 80s.   Anyway, I found a pair on OfferUp in Chicago and had them shipped to San Diego,  I had new tweeters, woofers and crossovers built and just got them back.   They sound great!

Still enjoying the two MyMats.  Glad that you recommended them.

Hope all is well with you.

Dave Mason - It’s Like You Never Left

Steely Dan - Can’t Buy a Thrill  (ABCX-758) listened to after seeing Greg and Joel’s exchange on this album.  Sounds pretty good on my system but I agree it does not match up sonically to later Steely Dan recordings

ZZ Top - Deguello
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle
@spiritofradio

Thanks for the note.  Missed the leads on great music from all.  Did you ever make a move on a streamer and DAC?
The Band  “Stage Fright”
Pure Prairie League “Bustin’ Out”
Beatles “Revolver”
Beatles “Abbey Road (Giles Martin)”
The Chicks “Wide Open Spaces”

It’s been a while!
