@spiritofradio - thumbs up for Plaid Room Records. Yes, it is my LRS and GREAT people. Love supporting them.
@slaw - Glad you are supporting the gang at Plaid Room. They really are fantastic people.
@slaw - Hey Steve! I’m only here for a short one this evening. Early bike ride tomorrow morning.

Was down your way this week. Visiting schools in VA, SC, GA and TN. And spent some time with the In-Laws in Clemson. Great road trip.....
Hey Guys! What's up?

Just back from a week down south, college visits with my son who is a rising senior in HS. Had a great time.....

First up: The Doors - "Alive She Cried"
Steve, Brian,

I don't listen to a lot of jazz. But I checked out "Soular Energy" today, listening while putting away laundry. Really good! Thanks for sharing it......
@sourpuss123 -
(What’s so funny ‘bout) peace, love and understanding?

Indeed! What's so funny.......
Sheryl Crow - "Tuesday Night Music Club" - Black Friday RSD Edition 2XLP Blue Vinyl

Jethro Tull - "Songs From the Wood"  - The Steven Wilson Remix

Listening to a new (old) pair of speakers I picked up today from another local aficionado.  JSE Infinite Slope 1.8 Floorstanders.
@slaw  - Yes, quite the surprise. The guy's had them for sell for a month on local Craigslist. Kept dropping the price to a point where I just couldn't take it anymore. Finally said f@# it, and went and picked them up today at lunchtime.

They are really beautifully built speakers. Pretty large floorstanding 4-Way design with the infinite slope crossover, on casters. They are probably a little large for my room. I think they are overloading the space a bit. Will play with them for a while to see if they can replace the Infinitys (doubt it) and will pass them along to the next guy if I don't love them (as I did with the Vandersteen 3s).
@mammothguy54  - Hey Joel. The previous owner replaced the surrounds that needed it. They all look perfect!
The Who - "Live at Leeds"

The complete 33 Track Set. Deluxe Edition. 3xLP, Abby Road Half Speed Master.

This is a GREAT record!
Black Pumas - "Capitol Cuts" - Recorded Live at Hollywood's Capitol Records - Studio A. Colemine Records exclusive Red Swirl Color. Thanks Colemine Records and Plaid Room!
Finishing up The Who - "Live at Leeds" 3xLP set I started a couple of nights ago.

@slaw  - Hey Steve! Thanks for the offer. I may do that. I'll let you know...

Hey @reubent ,

Send that warped lp to me and I'll flatten it for you. You pay shipping both ways.

@sourpuss123  - World Party / Good bye Jumbo (1990 Chrysalis)

One of my all-time favorites. Great record. All Killer, No Filler...

The Beatles - "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" Fantastic, and I'm not even a real Beatles fan....
@j_husker  - I haven't heard either of your TTs, so I can't say which is better. But I did enjoy a Linn Axis, w/Basic Plus tonearm and K9 cartridge for many years. Loved. Close and play at it's best!

Oh, and how do you follow up 2112? Maybe "A Farewell to Kings"?
@slaw  - Hey Steve. It's getting dark earlier, so shorter bike rides on weekday evenings. Gives me an extra hour to try to get in some tunes. We spent several weeks out of town over the summer. A week of paddling/camping in Boundary Waters National Wilderness, a week down your way doing college visits and a week in Colorado doing college visits, hiking, biking, climbing and rafting.

Also, I put the Infinitys back in the system. I prefer the Infinity sound over the JSEs. More engaging.

I just need to bite the bullet and do some work on the old Infinitys since I enjoy them so much. And get a new turntable....

Reference 3As are long gone, more than a year ago. Pre-COVID. I previously had Reference 3A MM DeCapo(i) and enjoyed them (in a different room/different home). The Veenas, not as much in my current room. The were definitely audiophile speakers with great resolution. But no meat on the bones.

Elton John - "Rock of the Westies"

Not usually considered one of EJ's best, however I like it quite a bit. And it contains one of my favorite EJ songs - "I Feel Like a Bullet (in the gun of Robert Ford)"

Hey Jim! Thanks. I had never heard the film version of "Stones" before. Wow! Fantastic! And I was just thinking last night that I need to see the movie. That was just reinforced...

FYI for anyone interested:
