Steve, good to know! Thanks for that, I drive past UPS to get to Kohls...

The Flying Burrito Bros /  The Gilded Palace Of Sin

1969 A&M

Steve, my wife informed me I can exchange Amazon purchases at the local Kohls which will keep me in the game. Thankfully!

@spiritofradio I agree that overall they are quiet, it's the occasional static noise I hear, like a quiet 1 second frying pan 'sizzle'. Only on new stuff, not on all of it. My cartridge has a Namiki microridge line contact stylus with under 300 logged hours. I clean every new record before play, and multiple treatments don't help. I'm wondering if it's the same noise @big_greg hears on the HM LP?

@slaw @big_greg @spiritofradio

New, poorly made LP’s are becoming more of an issue IMO. About half of my purchases this past year have static noise somewhere. Very aggravating and has me rethinking future purchases, which are mostly online and require return shipping to exchange. It’s hard to enjoy the new purchase when you almost expect to have an issue.

@sourpuss123 I listened to all four sides of the Godfathers last night, couldn't stop!    Wish I'd bought their other two LP's back in the day. Hope you score on Dcogs.

FWIW I reported some iOS issues with the new software. Tammy @agon sez the bugs are being worked on by the developer.

Pink Floyd / Dark Side Of The Moon

30th Anniversary issue Holland import

I also got the InAGadaDaVida reissue, No. 910. What a trip! My original is rife with surface noise so I'm happy to get a quality replacement. The title track, what a song!

I saw Iron Butterfly with Uriah Heep in 1969 at the Salem, OR National Guard Armory of all places. Like mammothguy64, I remember it to this day.

It's been a quiet few days here with the system dismantled and moved to paint the room. Nice to have everything clean, wiped down and repositioned. Serviced the TT and the platter is spinning like a roulette wheel.

The James Gang / The James Gang Rides Again

1970 Geffen- 2017 MoFi reissue

@bkeske, I couldn’t agree more, I feel I could’ve written that.
@slaw, same here but use a Sony HAP to stream Spotify. Love this thread for new music recommendations.

Yup, 10cc. Lol.
Old 97’s, good stuff. Rhett Miller’s The Instigator also good on CD.

That ELP BSS has some of the cooler jacket art. The original title was to be Whip Some Skull On Ya but was changed after it was found the meaning translated to “fellatio”. They shoulda stuck with the original, who’d know? Like what Steely Dan is named after…

Emerson, Lake & Palmer / Brain Salad Surgery
Steve, some of the cuts on Knave it’s Ian Anderson sounding like Mark Knopfler—voice and guitar, too. Did you notice that on Catfish Rising?

Jethro Tull / Benefit
