Just arrived today.

Jack Nitzsche - "The Hot Spot" Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Robbie Robertson - S/T

Both are fantastic albums IMHO, full of great supporting artists

The Hot Spot is a movie soundtrack, composed by Jack Nitzsche and performed by John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, Roy Rogers, Tim Drummond, Bradford Ellis and Earl Palmer.

The self-titled Robbie Robertson album features U2, The BoDeans, Daniel Lanois, Peter Gabriel, Terry Bozzio, Tony Levin, Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, Ivan Neville and more!

Both of these records have been on my wishlist for years. I've owned the CDs for a long time and finally got them on vinyl. Both are in really nice condition and both sound great.

Steve, Yes, that's the movie - The Hot Spot. Funny, I love the music, but I've yet to see the movie...

James, great story. Here's a good recent one too...

I ordered a new cartridge yesterday at 3am (couldn't sleep). It showed up yesterday (same day) at 6 pm! Turns out it was in the local Amazon stock. New Cartridge is Audio Technica AT-VM740ML. Breaking it in now....

Guys,

Thanks for the love of "Heartbeat City".

@slaw  -

How is that MFSL version of "Companion"? I have the Premonition 2XLP 33/45 mix issue. I'm not much of a fan of Patricia Barber. However, her performance on the live album -  "Companion" is fantastic.

Brandi Carlile - "By the Way, I Forgive You"

I really like this album but I don't love the way it's recorded. Would love for it to be a more hi-fi recording, vs. the low-fi way it's recorded. Wonder if a more polished recording style would have taken away from the overall feel of the album?

The Nils Lofgren album - "Acoustic Live" is da bomb! Fantastic songs and heavenly sound quality. A true audiophile and music lovers album.

For anyone unfamiliar, at least stream it and check it out.

@slaw  - Dang Steve! That's a haul. It will take you nearly all weekend (knowing your sleep schedule) to get through those.....
@slaw  - How is - Buddy & Julie Miller "Written In Chalk"? It's been sitting on my wishlist for almost 2 years. I need to $*it or get off the pot.......
@boxer12  - Yep, "Rough Mix" is really good. I hadn't heard it in a long time, but found a NM copy at my LRS for $3.99. My cleaning sticker says August 2019 (I clean all new and used vinyl before playing it for the first time). What a bargain. I'll never understand used record pricing dynamics......
@boxer12  - I love the early Adrian Belew solo albums. So much fun. Was fortunate to see him several times during his early solo heyday. Local boy, from here in the greater Cincinnati area (Covington, KY).....
Man, I've always loved "Then Came the Last Days of May" on "On Your Feet.....". Intro, Outro and everything in between....
@big_greg

Blue Öyster Cult - Tyranny and Mutation

@reubent on your feet or on your knees is in the on-deck bin along with cultosaurus erectus.

You're cool......... Like me! ;~)
@big_greg  - My copy of "On Your Feet" somehow made it unscathed through college. However, my copies of "Spectres" and "Agents of Fortune" didn't. I just replaced them with better copies from my LRS last summer.
Greg, Spirit..., Just checked my scrapbook. Yep, there it was...... The ticket stub from my first rock concert. So glad I kept all that stuff.

Blue Oyster Cult
Uriah Heep

Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY

I even snagged a Lee Kerslake drumstick at that show, but can't seem to find it ATM.

@sailmed  - Hey Barry! Welcome to the best thread on AudiogoN! Keep 'em coming....

BTW, my new cartridge is breaking-in quite nicely...

@spiritofradio

I liked to stuff cassette shells with concert tickets by the same band.

Nice! Great idea.

Bummer, the only concert tickets I was holding (rescheduled from last April) was Shovels and Rope at the Ludlow Garage (Clifton/Cincinnati, Ohio). Got the cancellation/refund notice today. I hope this crap ends soon so we can get back to live music.

Great album Greg. I bought it when it was first released, and I've listened to it semi-regularly ever since....
Lunchtime listening - Patricia Barber - "Companion" - Premonition Records 2XLP
@boxer12  - I have that Rough Trade - "Rough Trade Live!" Direct to Disk Record. I think I've owned it for more than 30 year and I get it out an play it occasionally. Really good sound quality, as it's a Direct to Disk recording. I've just never warmed up to it musically. The band is fine, but I find the lead singer - Carol Pope to be needlessly over dramatic. Maybe it was a thing, in that place, at that time.

What's the number embossed on your copy? Mine is 0026069

Listening to it now.

Gerry Rafferty - "City to City"

"Whatever's Written in your Heart, That's All That Matters. Night and Day, Night and Day..."

@slaw

The aforementioned lyrics were my own.

Very nice. Did you write these to/for your sister? I hope she knows......

The Bears - S/T

More local heroes from here in "The Queen City of the West".

Dixie Dregs - "Freefall"

OK, it's probably been 20 years since I last listened to this. Sounds a lot better than I was expecting.

@slaw

Supertramp "Brother Where You Bound"

Finally! You know it's one of my favorites......

I even have the 12" 45rpm Direct to Disk of "Cannonball".
