@dayglow there is a published article by Denny Dias on why Katy Lied sounds like crap because of a glitch in DBX noise reduction system

@slaw I ordered it from Amazon about 9 days ago and it shipped, from Italy, to my door in about 6 days, kinda surprised me.

The vinyl quality is disappointing

Mark Knopfler - Sailing to Philadelphia, Ragpicker's Dream, Golden Heart from box set

Sonny Stitt - Blows the Blues - AP 45rpm Verve reissue - perfect

Beck - Morning Phase - awesome in every way

Bill Evans - The Bill Evans Album - Speakers Corner - absolutely amazing SQ

@tomic601 ha, yeah, kinda all over the place. Testing out the new Degritter so listening to some vintage vinyl and new stuff

Forgot

Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express - it fits right in!

Colter Wall - Songs of the Plains - this is a reference album to me, incredibly well recorded and just another great one from this young genius

Modern Jazz Quartet - Fontessa - Speakers Corner

Henry Mancini - Pink Panther - Speakers Corner

Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger - Impex - this is in my top 3 records in my collection. Excellent beyond belief

Son Volt - Trace

AC/DC - Back in Black - RL pressing

Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue - AP 45rpm

Dire Straits - S/T and Communique - Mofi 45rpm - reference records

Billy Joel - the Stranger

Jackson Browne - The Pretender

Beck - Sea Change  - stunning

Ibrahim Ferrer - Beunos Hrrmanos - excellent

@boxer12 nice one on the Butthole Surfers

Steve Miller - Fly Like an Eagle - original Mofi

@slaw it must have a lot to do with it? The machine is very quiet, I was surprised, the loudest thing is the drying fan and you can control the force of it.

My other US sounded like a loud tattoo gun when running

Beck - Sea Change - excellent - I am cleaning and testing a few of my high traffic albums

@slaw it is - but it had surface noise I tried to reduce on the old US machine and it might have been worse after. Perfect now

@slaw I got 10% off so it saved me a little bit but so far the results have been very consistent, which is what I couldn't seem to do on the DIY solution.

And the bonus is it is stupid simple, which is good for a half wit like me. Just drop in the record and come back 7 mins later to a great record. Really cleaned up my OP of Nebraska, A LOT. At the moment I am have ZERO buyers remorse at the moment

Jillian Welsh - Soul Journey - sounds fantastic after Degritter bath

Thanks, Slaw

Hope you are doing well? Been doing lots of listening, just not checking in.

Testing out a new toy. Got a Degritter and running a bunch of things through it tonight

Howdy, Gents

Radiohead - Kid A

Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska

Willie Nelson - Phases and Stages

Simon and Garfunkel - BOTW - One Step Mofi

Bill Evans - Live at Ronnie Scott's

Velvet Underground - White Light White Heat
@slaw thanks for the tip. I will be looking for another pressing. With Dire Straits I have a bunch of original pressings and early pressings for everything but On Every Street
Sam Rivers - Contours - Tone Poet

Dire Straits - On Every Street - new 2LP 180g reissue - awful - SQ good but vinyl is horrible and noisy, even after multiple cleanings. Going back.

Bob Dylan - Greatest Hits - Mofi 45rpm - excellent

The Doors - Waiting for the Sun - AP 45rpm 200g - awesome
@mammothguy54. Thank you, Sir. My collection is not big but I do have some nice pieces in it.

Bill Evans - Portrait in Jazz - Mofi One Step - one of the best of the best
@boxer12 thanks, Sir. I moved a turntable from one system to my my main just to see how it would affect the sound. Pretty solid.

Beck - Sea Change

Willie Nelson - Greatest Hit and some that will be
Bill Evans - Live at Montreux - AP 45rpm - this may be the best sounding live Jazz record I own - stunning
Alison Krauss and Union Station - Every Time you say Goodbye Mofi 33rpm
Ben Webster - Gone With the Wind - ORG
Tracy Chapman - S/T
Black Pumas - S/T - Deluxe Edition
Kenny Dorham - Quiet Kenny - AP 33rpm
Fleetwood Mac - Rumors - AP 45rpm

Andrew Bird - Mysterious Production of Eggs - such a great album and the SQ is quite good
Johnny Cash - The Fabulous Johnny Cash - Impex - extremely good

Holly Cole Trio - Don't Smoke in Bed - AP 33rpm - this record is incredibly well recorded and AP did an awesome job with it but the music is just awful. Awful. Couldn't make it through side 1. If I had not picked it up cheap I would take it back. Awful
Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson - Verve 45rpm AP reissue. This series is some of my favorite vinyl I have. They are all just awesome
DiMeola, McLaughlin, DeLucia - Friday Night in San Francisco - Impex 33rpm - better than my OP of this record
Shoji Yokouchi Trio - Greensleeves - Impex 33rpm - SQ is EX+ and the drum recording is AMAZING

Deftones - Around the Fur - VVG
Easy Star All Stars - Radiodread - SQ is very good but surprising lack of low end on some of the tracks for a reggae album.
Lou Reed - Transformer - Speakers Corner - woooow - this pressing is AWESOME
Johnny Cash - I Walk the Line - Mofi 45rpm - outstanding

Vanessa Fernandez - I Want You - 45rpm - she is kinda like Patricia Barber to me, her music is not my cup of tea but holy hell is she recorded well. Vinyl is DEAD silent and the range on this record is huge, low lows and bright where it should be. Extremely well recorded, mastered and mixed.
Continuing with some of the vinyl I picked up yesterday at the Austin Record Convention :

Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump on a wooden piano - have always loved the original album and this one is awesome except the clear vinyl is noisy on a sparse record so it stands out badly even after a run in the US cleaner.

Buddy Holly - S/T - AP 33rpm - excellent
@slaw based on your recommendation, I picked up 3 Doug MacLeod records at the Austin Record Convention today. Come to Find in AP 33rpm (guy didn't have it in 45rpm) and 2 of the Reference Mastercuts records in 45rpm.

Holy Smokes - this Come to Find is excellent
B-52s - Mesopotamia EP
Lester Young and Teddy Wilson - Pres & Teddy

@slaw I picked up the Sade box set too. I used to own the first 3 records in original pressings but lost them in a break up and didn't get them back I figured this was a good way to get them all. First record sounds good, will do Promise next
Run DMC - Raising Hell - Mofi 45rpm - dope! Supa dope! Awesome

Nirvana - Nevermind - Pallas pressing - VG

Doors - S/T - AP 45rpm 200g - superb!
Bill Evans - Live in Montreux - AP 45rpm 180g - amazingly great recording and SQ

David Bowie - Hunky Dory - Parlaphone reissue - great album - so so reissue quality
Sade - Diamond Life from box set
Cowboy Junkies - Trinity Sessions - AP 33rpm - so awesome

@tomic601 good point, but I guess this one was a little special as I didn't know the album at all and half of it is as much Kenny Burrell as Chambers
@slaw how is the B,S&T? Mine arrived yesterday and I am debating opening it.
Hey @slaw,@slaw, hope you are doing well, sir?

Paul Chambers - Bass on Top - Tone Poet series - lovely
Evening gents,

Ben Webster - Ballads - Verve Compilation - very very good and a used buy to boot

Neil Young - Young Shakespeare - live from '71 - Excellent SQ and Vinyl and performance is very good - not sure why another concert from this tour but still great
@reubent hey, sir
I have been good, lots of distractions lately, not enough time in a listening spot but I have gotten in some listening the last few weeks.
I got the newer reissues of the Band and Music From Big Pink 45rpm a while back. Always reminds me that they hold a special spot in your heart

Beck - Sea Change - excellent in every way
