As Far As Siam ..... Red Rider. |
Morning Dance ... Spyro Gyra.
|
Three Dog Night S/T. Unofficial official Taiwan copy. |
Slaw. Let us know your thoughts on Highwomen album as I was looking at that yesterday in the store.... Thx Sir! |
Not relevant to a TT thread but......
I recently played Aqualung on r2r and omg......
Just a totally awesome recording and playback. |
Last week everyone bar myself appeared to be absent without leave!
I could hear the echo in here, here, here,...... |
Slaw. Between $125 and $200 right now so whatever you paid was a lot less I am sure. |
This true Slaw!
Symphonion Dream .... The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. |
The Best of Rez ... The Resurrection Band.
Nice little Christian Rock Band. For a small independent label the SQ is first rate. |
Playing to an empty hall Boxer .. lol.
Enjoying Two Against Nature by Steely Dan right now but on cassette as it is near unobtanium on vinyl.
SQ is phenomenal! |
Boxer. The AT20 was just a little too bright and sibilant on the QL-A7 . Now it's running a Glanz Azzura that is a much better match all round. Not saying it's a better cart, just better in this application to my ears.
Come to the dark side.... We have cookies!
|
Myths and Legends of King Arthur ... Rick Wakeman.
Sorry Boxer, that just has always stuck in my head as my daughter had a t-shirt with that Slogan on it years ago.
πππ |
Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert.
Been some serious action on here today, great stuff all round. Last night for vinyl again, sunny Rocky Mount, Virginia tomorrow for the week. No vinyl shops either, bummer! |
reubent. I picked up 4 Alarm albums from the little record store in Keyser, WV a couple weeks backs but not had chance to play any of them yet. I am expecting them to sound very good indeed!
|
Slaw. And so you should! I had mats, eCards and TC paste for months before The Gate was added. Get a real good feel for just what the plus mats bring to the table and then play music some more!
However I know that you will not rush anything.....ππ |
Thick as a Brick ... Jethro Tull |
|
Slaw. Just think about what The Gate might bring to your system.....
Just got back from Virginia and letting the rig warm up. Started with a R2R album and after letting the new plus mats settle for a week... Well woohoo is about right! |
Dreams I'll never see. It's on the album I have on now Slaw. |
Tomic. Believe it or not I saw Blackfoot back in England in the 80,s. They were more commercially successful in Europe than the States, go figure!
Slaw. For sure in the 70,s Jacksonville was a hot bed of talent and those mentioned were just the ones who got lucky and made it major league.
Would have loved to have seen Molly Hatchet.
To Whit... Double Trouble live .... Molly Hatchet. With one of my favorite songs ever, " walk on the side of the Angels". |
Adventure ... Television.
Very nice recording IMHO. |
A break from Southern thang......
Purple Passages ... Deep Purple. |
Siogo ... Blackfoot.
Reminded me I have a new to me pile of Blackfoot albums to play. Strikes. Marauder, Tomcattin.
Does not hurt they are another bunch of good old southern boys starting out here in Jacksonville back in 69! |
I have a feeling this weekend is going to be a Jacksonville southern rock session!
Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special, Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers etc. So much great music to listen to. |
Haha.
I remember when one of my Savannah cats tried to jump on my TT.... While a record was playing..... No it did not end well at all....... π«π«π«π« |
Quite the engineer Boxer. Good for you sir!
The Seatrain album came from my lrs some time back, just not got around to playing it. Itβs sort of jazz/ rock. Fairly accessible. But for me to play something YOU have not heard of is quite shocking. Lol.
Right now.
Bed of Roses ... Arcadia.
Simon LeBon of Duran Duran , as a side project I guess. |
Really going to mess your heads up with this next one.....
Watch .... Seatrain |
Greg..... Great find. Destroyer...OMG...what memories! We commissioned a mural on the college student room wall of the album cover, gawd only knows what future generations of students thought of it. LMFAO 1977.Β
Boxer. There are plenty of vinyl copies of Watch on eBay starting about $10. |
Electric Folklore Live ... The Alarm. |
Slaw As far as the how's of the PPT i admit to having no real idea. However as I am sure you have seen the arguments about it just ends up going off the rails. So I try to not get involved any more and just let my system do the talking or singing to be correct.
I would honestly say you will keep noticing incremental improvement for a few more days yet if my experience is atypical.
Just enjoy! |
Happy birthday Slaw! ππΎπ₯π»ππππ
Be the big 60 myself in about ten weeks. |
It might be Brian. I would have to see who has best deal with best retip. There's a few around, Soundsmith, Andy Kim etc. It was a $1500 cart new. |
Slaw Any of those 3 would work for me! Or not " work"dependent upon how you desire to view it! ππ |
Grand Hotel ... Procul Harum.
Trying out my new to me TT81. |
Never saw The Eagles...π¨π¨π¨π¨. Or Joe Walsh. |
Not really got time until later tonight to play any records and sit and relax. Just had couple tapes on as background music while attacking the honey dew list as away all next week.
I'm thinking though that my Scheu Analog SL is starting to get a bit tired. I checked on original purchase and seller said 400 hours and I have put on at least 800. So minimum of 1200, more likely 1300 to 1400. Still sounds good but now I keep listening for signs of distortion rather than just enjoying itπ |
Waking up With the House on Fire ... Culture Club.
Yes really.. lol , Boy George. |
Had to get my new wave/ romantics urge fulfilled tonight.
Don't you want me .. The Human League. Take on me ... Aha.
Both 12" 45rpm e.p cuts. The SQ is PDG as there is a lot of room to cut the grooves on a 12" compared to a 7" of basically the same songs. |
Another Ticket ... Eric Clapton. |
|
Sweet Child ... The Pentangle. |
Seconds of Pleasure ... Rockpile. |
|
Thanks Greg. I have only heard good things on Andy Kim and all reports said his turnaround time was a lot faster than Soundsmith. Not that it's critical as I do have a few other carts to play with π |
Hey Greg Was it yourself who said earlier that your brother or a friend had bought the nova iii phono? If so did you get any feedback on it yet? Thx
|
Thx Greg Obviously mixed you up with somebody else, my apologies.
|
Thx Tomic, sorry did not mean to mix you up with Greg!
Very interested as I am so impressed with the Phonomena in my system and for the small cost of the Nova iii it might be the next big thing. I know Slaw will despair and throw his hands up in the air... lol.
But in my defense your honour!
I am presently heavily enamoured by Astatic/Glanz MF carts and these REALLY respond well to a wide open loading of 100k.
They sound much sweeter and with more air through the Phonomena than through the Chinook.
|
The Getaway ... Chris De Burgh. |
North Korean robot? Darn it I could have sworn you was a Taiwanese robot! lmfao
btw, what is a real audiophile??
|
Heck no Slaw! Don't worry I am more than capable of letting people know when they piss me off..... lol.
Did you try that special efx album yet?
And sending a message your way soon re "the mat".
