Black or red label? I believe the tri sleeve was black label. |

|
16f4 Glad you like that cover by Frijid Pink of House of The Rising Sun. They put very distorted fuzzy guitar to good use on a lot of cuts on that album. Very late 60,s sound for sure!
|
Slaw How recent and how much time you got to read? Lol. Do you mean the German pressings or?
|
Slaw Relaxing with some zounds right now but will try to list the German pressings later tonight . Thank goodness for Discogs and the people who populate all the releases in it.
Even though as new and unplayed they still benefited from a good clean.
One thing to bear in mind is that I did not have ANY of these albums on vinyl previously so do not have anything to compare them too for superior SQ to say a USA pressing. |
Slaw Yea I had you going.... Lol. Not a huge pile agreed but a very good haul of quality vinyl. It was more that I usually buy at one sitting though, if he had more in that vein I might have bought more. But the wallet hurt enough after that! |
Slaw Just back in the land of the semi living. No it was not a test... Lol. Apparently they made the same triple liner version with a black label too but looks like that was for a different European market than the German red label version. Highly confusing! |
Google returns zero results for a mispress of this album so really stumped now. And annoyed!!
Unless of course it turns out to be worth thousands........ |
Empire Burlesque .... Bob Dylan. |
Wth?? I say WTH?????
The Heep album I just put on is NOT, I REPEAT NOT Heep at all!
The label is Heep with correct song list but when I looked at it I thought odd as it was just two tracks on the side 1 and should be four.
No idea who or what it is but some type of jazz/swing crap. On side 1. Side 2 is indeed Heep as per the listing.
I have heard of mispressings but seriously? Jazz one side, Heep the other???
How the heck can this be????
Never ever had this before!!
😠😠😠😠😠😠 |
|
The Clarke/Duke Project II
Absolutely mind blowing! |
Very Eavy, very Umble .... Uriah Heep. |
@reubent .
My fervent hope is it is worth some money, all the best songs were on side 1, 😆.
However not sure how I find anything about it as no hits on the net.
Anyone know of a specialised site for mispressed albums? |
After that debacle I played the German pressing which was correct and superb.
Now a nice album I recently picked up.
The Island Story 1962-1987 25th Anniversary.
Some sweet cuts on this. |
Not sure as I have ever heard Wonderworld. Would have to stream that one. |
@reubent .
Glad you like Demons and Wizards. That , Magicians Birthday and Look at Yourself are my top 3 Heep Albums with July Morning probably my all time fave track.
But.... I don’t think I have ever heard them compared to Procul Harum before. Which got me thinking of course.
You might have something there......
Btw I do not know enough about anything to have an ego......
😁😁😁 |
Amazing what you can learn on YouTube.
Been plagued with “squeaky tapes” of late. Found Capitol and emi were notorious for not having used correct lubricant in initial manufacturing of tapes, especially the XDR tapes. Now know how to fix and relubricate them and the old Nakamichi 500 worked very well for that job.
Useless snippet of information for tonight...lol |
Boxer I went although had already been forewarned it was overpriced.
$5 albums were $1albums at best. Still I did buy 3 records that I thought were fair and that you did not see every day so not a total washout. |
Middle Passage ... Ginger Baker.
RIP Ginger Baker. |
You are most welcome Julie_priest! |
Reubent. I am pretty sure we talked about the Jimbo Mathus albums a while back. I tried hard but just a bit too off the path for my tastes. |
No this show was part organised by the owner of a record store in St.Augustine, Tone Records, probably why all vendors were local.
|
Muscle Of Love .... Alice Cooper. In its original brown cardboard packet. |
Funny thing They don't take kindly to running record cleaners on the plane.
😁😁 Just landed in Jax, home sweet home soon# |
Been working in Dallas this week and on my way home right now. Found a fantastic store North Dallas area called Joseys records. Huge store, great selection and very fair prices, actually found a few MoFi records too so a new hoard on its way home in my suitcase to clean and play. But for now more streaming! |
Greg What do think of the 1200? Musical or analytical?
American Woman ... The Guess Who. |
Good summary Greg.
Seduced and Abandoned ... Hue and Cry.
Light and " poppy" but very well produced and super SQ. |
Some really good stuff being played out there today, very nice.
Easy Action ... Alice Cooper. |
Mwinkc.
And you did not go to see them? Could have been a great show! |
Dreamboat Annie .... Heart
Ann's vocals are really superb on this album. |
I Advance Masked .... Andy Summers & Robert Fripp. |
Going to be a busy morning tomorrow. Have to rearrange gear to try and fit in my JVC QLA7 TT so I can play records on both that and the 401 in the main rig. Not sure how I am going to make it happen yet as have very limited room and options.
Also out of record storage space!
Not good might have to stop buying new records......
😕😕😕 |
Double Time .... Leon Redbone. |
Slaw. Thx buddy, made me smile and that's a good thing indeed. The power of laughter is nearly as therapeutic as listening to music.
|
Troublemaker ... Ian McLagan. |
The Fool Circle ... Nazareth. |
Rearranging all done and not bad if I say so myself! Glad I hardly ever throw anything away, found I had some 3/4" mdf to make a second TT shelf for now. Got the 401 and the QLA7 hooked up through the Denon SUT one flip of a switch on the SUT to select either.
Right now it’s the 401 as still waiting for my step down transformer for the QLA7.
Dog Days .... ARS.
Track #2 cracks me up!! |
Sports Car ... Judy Tzuke.
If anybody remember her. |
Answers to Nothing ... Midge Ure.
You could say that Midge, Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe were possibly the father's of the British New Wave movement.
Digging through my Brit 80,s lps now. |
The R&B Years .... Manfred Mann.
Original mono recording |
@reubent
Going to have to revisit them.
Any album recommended to start? |
@reubent .
Now that is a band I have not even heard mentioned in forever never mind played.
Budgie.
A real blast from the past. |
From this October body......
In Deep .... Argent
God Gave rock,n,roll to you indeed! |
|
Here and There .... Elton John.
His piano playing is always a good test of any system changes. |
Byrdmaniax ... The Byrds.
UK pressing and the SQ is off the charts! Might be one of my new goto albums. |
Can, Budgie, Argent... We are going back to the future.
Time to dig out some Camel and Caravan for later. |
Mask ... Roger Glover.
Another very well produced album but no surprise with Glover at the helm. |
