@tomic601 - I don't know about "best", but I am enjoying this version of Aqualung:

JETHRO TULL AQUALUNG (STEVEN WILSON MIX) (180 GRAM VINYL 1 LP)

I bought it from Insound during one of their 60% off sales, so it was around $9.00 for a new copy. I just checked Insound and they were currently out of stock.

Good luck in your hunt for Aqualung nirvana........
@tomic601 - Yep, Insound gets the award for best value. During recent 60% off sales I've picked up many great audiophile quality LPs for under $10.

Unfortunately they lack selection. During the last 3 60% off sales, I bought every record I wanted from their small catalog.
Morcheeba - "Big Calm"

I love this album. Great early morning opener or late evening closer. And outside of the genres I usually play.
@tomic601 - Yep, The Teskey Brothers record is really good. Before it was released in the US, they had another album on their BandCamp site that has now been taken down. I liked the BandCamp album even better. Hopefully, with their new found success, that other album will be released as an actual record, not just a bandcamp stream/download. I really regret not spending the $7.99 and downloading the digital copy while I had the chance. Hopefully we see it released soon.

Had a friend/neighbor over tonight. He had never heard my system, seen my record and CD collection or all of my bikes. Good time. Played a few LPs...

U2 - "Joshua Tree" - 2xLP Reissue/remaster from 2018

Supertramp - "Brother Where You Bound"

Jan Hammer - "Oh, Yeah?"

Aaron Parks - "Little Big"

Rush - "A Farewell to Kings"

Matthew Sweet - "Girlfriend" 2xLP Artist Approved Reissue/remaster

Patto - S/T

Also streamed a few tunes from Spotify on my WIIM streamer.

Good times.....

@tomic601 - I had "Heavy Horses" in the queue before I left for my annual family ski vacation last week. Just got home (fantastic snow in Summit County, CO this season!). Finally put on Heavy Horses. I have an early copy from back in '78.  Brought back great memories from the time of it's release in '78. Not my favorite Jethro Tull record, but still enjoyable.
Next up:

Poco - "Cantamos"

Really clean, quiet copy for a record that cost 15 cents. Musically, not bad, but not fantastic either. Will probably go into the Trade pile.
I'm going through some of the "on sale" $1 bin records I bought a couple of weeks ago. Ended up paying just 15 cents a piece for them as the LRS had them marked down to 6 for a dollar. All hand picked for condition, but I was not familiar with many of them. But, for 15 cents each, hard to go too Wrong.

I already cleaned a small batch. Kept a few good ones for myself, then traded 12 other decent ones at another LRS for $40 store credit! Not a bad return on the investment. Working on the next batch now.

To start the evening (remember, I paid 15 cents each for these) so some of them are of questionable quality (content and condition) :

Angel - "White Hot" - I saw this band open for Blue Oyster Cult in 1978. Godz opened the show "Godz are Rock and Roll Machines". They were very theatrical, but musically blah.

Anyway, this albums sucks. Talking about "Hair Bands". These guys, well, I guess they are all guys, take top honors. Musically, horrible. "Discovered", playing in a bar, by Gene Simmons. He should have left them there.

This 15 cent "find" is going into the trade pile......
Next out of the 15 cent stash......

James Taylor - "JT"

Big record from 1977. Nominated for Best Album at Grammys, but lost out to Rumours. Good record, but doesn't compare to Rumours.

May go in my record shelf, or may go into the trade pile. Not sure yet.
Up now, from the big bargain stash......

Steve Winwood - "Back in the High Life"

I already own an original copy of this album, so I'm just play grading this one. It will be off to the trade bin......

So far, the copy is very good. Will make a nice trade record....

@slaw - I put JT in the trade pile. The copy is pretty good, but it just didn't move me.
First real loser from the bargain stash......

Bruce Cockburn - "World of Wonders"

I already own this album and it has a several good tracks. But the bargain bin copy I bought is junk. I'll put it in the Give Away pile and move on.....
Moving on through the bargain bin stash...

Linda Ronstadt - "Hasten Down the Wind"

Truly a great voice.....
OK, I listened to enough crappy records tonight. Decided to end the night with a great one....

Willie Nelson - "Always on my Mind"

This is a great sounding record. And I love Willie. This is one of my favorite Willie albums.
The last of the bargain bin finds for tonight....

Tom Scott - "Blow it Out"

I liked this record back in my college days in the late '70's/early 80's. Not so much now. To the trade pile it goes...
Now playing, from the bargain stash......

Jackson Browne - "Hold Out"

I also already own a great copy of this record, so just play grading it for trade...
Back to cleaning and listening to the bargain stash. First up tonight......

Kenny Rankin - "Like a Weed"

Was totally unfamiliar with Kenny Rankin and this album. It's pretty good. I think I'll check Spotify for his most popular songs. Might be worthwhile.....
Hummmm, Seems Kenny Rankin has been around for a long time and changed genres kind of mid career. I didn't realize that the Kenny Rankin on this 1972 record - "Like a Weed" was the same Kenny Rankin that did the popular audiophile recording  "Because of You". I remember hearing "Because of You" many times during the mid-'90s at audiophile get-togethers or at audio shows. Never really liked it, but it did have great sound quality.

Maybe I'll give it another shot......
Rascalz - "Northern Touch/Solitaire"

From the bargain stash. I don't listen to much Hip Hop, but this is better than most I've heard.
Continuing through the bargain stash.....

Chris Hillman - "Slippin' Away"

It's Chris Hillman, so it can't be bad...  It's really pretty good.
@bdp24 - "Desert Rose" is in my pile from the big bargain stash I purchased a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully I'll get to give it a spin in the next day or so.....
Little River Band - "First Under the Wire"

From the bargain stash. Some of it is pretty good. Some, not so much....
@bdp24 - I played Chris Hillman - "Desert Rose" tonight. Very nice. Really good sound quality, good performances and good music. I wouldn't call it "hardcore" Bluegrass. I'm from Kentucky and I've heard a lot of Bluegrass bands from up in the mountains. Desert Rose is much more polished than the Bluegrass Bands I heard in my youth. I would call it Bluegrass Lite!

Doesn't matter what you call it. It's simply good music IMHO. Unfortunately the cover of the copy I bought (for 15 cents) is pretty trashed. I might look for a better copy, albeit at a much higher price (like $1)!
Eric Carmen - S/T

From the bargain stash. This album was big in 1975/76. Not bad, a bit pop-y in a 1975 pop/rock sort of way. Really clean copy. Probably headed to the trade pile.
Jay Ferguson - "Thunder Island"

Nice clean copy from the bargain stash. Only cost me 15 cents. It's worth at least twice that, for sure.....
Bob Geldof - "Deep in the Heart of Nowhere"

From the bargain stash. Pretty good stuff.....
@jamesclarke - I was "All by Myself" last night in the basement listening room. I was singing my heart out while my wife and son slept upstairs..........

I have to admit, I liked Eric's vocals in Raspberries and solo. Really good singer.
@simon - Brand new to me. Just picked it up yesterday at my LSR from their (new arrivals) used records bin. So, I'm making new memories with this one. Beautiful copy......

Savoy Brown was not popular in my circle back in the day, so I'm only vaguely familiar with their output.
Justin Townes Earle - "Nothing's Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now"
Rush - "2112"

Haven't played it in a while. Was my introduction to Rush and they became my favorite band for years to come afterwards.
@uberwaltz - I see clips from the movie on YouTube, but I don't see the complete movie. I first saw it on PBS. Might be on Netflix. Might find it at your public library. You can buy it on Amazon for $16 or stream it on Amazon Prime. Worse case, I can send you my copy and you can return it after watching...
@uberwaltz - 2112 was a game-changer for me too. I saw them on tour the following year and I couldn't believe it. Was hooked for life, even though I did not really enjoy the last 3-4 albums.

Have you seen the documentary - "RUSH - Beyond the Lighted Stage"? If not, check it out. Fantastic documentary and it will provide a deeper understanding of the "life and times" of the band and it's members.
@uberwaltz - Sure, no problem buddy. Just let me know. Hit me up with a PM....
Bill Withers - "Still Bill"

Music on Vinyl - MOVLP379 - Really nicely done. Sounds great......
@tomic601 - There's a list of all of the RSD Exclusive releases for 2019 on the RSD website. I've looked over it a couple of times and I did not see a single record that I wanted to buy. Now, my LRS has a lot of other stuff going on for RSD and it's a blast, even without buying any of the year's RSD exclusives. However, I'm going to be out of town this year and I'm not really disappointed about it....
@tomic601 - So, did you see anything you want listed on the RSD Exclusive list for this year's Record Store Day?
Brandi Carlile - "by the way, I forgive you"

I have a love/hate relationship with this record. I love the songs and the performance, but I really dislike the SQ.
@tomic601 - Dang man! That's a haul. Good luck. Hopefully your LRS does not sell out of any of the records you really want.....
@tomic601 - That sounds like a good plan. Last year, I showed up at my LRS at 6 PM. Worked out great for me....
