@bkeske,

Brian,

Where you been. Your posting has slacked off. Hope all is well.

Steve

Has been a busy week Steve, and Friday my new DAC arrived, so checking out my digital recordings to get aquatinted (see the ‘streaming’ and ‘systems’ threads).

As good as it sounds, I may feel the need for a vinyl fix before the night is over though 😁

After finishing off 8&9 Of the Beethoven cycle, needed something different.

Václav Neumann conducts Martinů - Symphonies 3,4,&5. The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Supraphon 2LP gatefold 1982. Czechoslovakian release.

Hey @slaw I'm late to the party here. Had a few minutes between jobs, saw the link to the review, and gave it a read. Congrats man.

'My' MyMat is still in use on my SOTA, and I have no plans to replace or remove it. It works and it does what you wanted it to do, and I like the presentation it offers......without a clamp ;-). That was a tough one for me to get used to, but it does bring out the best in 'YourMat'.

+1 on the Bruckner 8 Brian

Not a big Bruckner fan actually, but I kinda force myself into listening to his compositions occasionally. Someday it may ‘click’.

Monty Alexander
In Tokyo

now I know most of you dudes aren’t all that into piano jazz but I must tell you that if you want an aural treat for your ears and brain with some relatively accessible instrumental tunes you might check this out. He’s maybe not that cutting edge and I don’t think he ever “played with Miles” but the dude did play for Sinatra on many club gigs in New York. Sweet.

I’m a big Monty fan. Especially when he teams up with Ray Brown. The Triple Treat series is a really good stuff.
