Hergest Ridge .... Mike Oldfield.

Playing on thrift store Sony LX-22 DD TT purchase whilst in NC on vacation.
Cw Sony VL5 cart it actually sounds PDG.

Not bad for $45!
Bought quite an eclectic ( for me) collection today.

First up.

Aztec Two Step S/T.
Tubular Bells ....... Mike Oldfield.

Original UK release.

Who sells that for $1??
@slaw

Going on your recommendation here.

Found a copy of El Camino on Discogs cw the 7" bonus single and CD.
Fair price so we will see.....
Just a bit of a contrast there Greg.

Not listened to Accept for ever, always brings to mind " balls to the wall".

Have a solo album by Udo, it’s slightly more refined than Accept although you still end up feeling  like you have just been yelled at by a very angry short German! Lol.
@noromance .
Do you have a dedicated mono setup or just play them on regular stereo cart?
@reubent

What do you think of that album?

I just bought it on R2R not had chance to listen to it yet.
Dangerous Music ... Robin George.

Once touted as the British Billy Squier but never fulfilled that hype.
Desperate ..... Divinyls.

Right up there with one of my other favorite female lead groups ... The Motels.
Crosseyed Heart ... Keith Richards.

180g 2 LP set.

Bought this ages ago but only just got round to playing it.

Stunning SQ, worth every penny imho.
Marathon ... Santana.

Never heard this one before today, picked it up in an antique mall in North Carolina.

Not too shabby.
Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School ... Warren Zevon.

Never quite got the full recognition he deserved, sad way to end as well.

Next up is going to be the 45rpm version of el Camino from your recommendation.
Hopefully that truly will be a reference recording.
Slaw.

It was in Sanford, I was working in Aberdeen/ Pinehurst area.
2 weeks before I was in Wilmington.

Maybe the UK vs Classic version is part of the difference I perceive on on Rough Mix.
@reubent

Darn good call on Rough Mix.
One of my goto for system test, it has it all in spades imho
Agreed it is not in the caliber of some of your recordings no doubt

But my copy was a still sealed copy and is pristine vinyl and to my ears it is very good sq.
It is not Aja or Crime of the Century but I find it is a very dynamic recording which for me is a good test, lots of good transients.

Ultimate reference recording maybe not but in my system it tells me whether changes I have wrought were for the better or not.

Like the new to me Manley Chinook SE phono stage I am trying out.....

P.S …. I try to avoid getting "the wind" at my age, it can end up being equally disturbing...…..
Slaw
Not got round to it yet.... lol

Married with kid, need I say more...…..
Tonight as soon as everybody in the house has quit pestering me!
Finally....

El Camino ... The Black Keys.

45rpm.

First time ever played my main TT at 45rpm ... Lol.

Good job I set both 33 and 45 with a strobe through the Walker controller when I got it.
Much easier than swapping belt onto different pulley.

Woah!

Darn.

Might have to invest in a few more 45rpm remasters if this is how they sound.

Thx @slaw .

Big thumbs up on this combined with the Chinook equal Ubervana!
Our local FYE have a 50% sale on a lot of vinyl today.

Picked up a few goodies, always nice to play virgin vinyl!.

First up 180gm Ltd purple grape edition of..... The Stage by Avenged Sevenfold.
Decided last night that I really needed to cut another media type out and with that I sold 300 CD job lot on eBay this morning. Freaking box weighed 65lb, good job media mail exists!
Only about 300 more left......
Great details Noromance.

Have been mulling over trying a Decca cart forever but not bit the bullet yet.

Was close to buying a modified Grey but dallied too long and it was gone.
Slaw.

When do you sleep?

Lol.

I am awed by your commitment to the music my friend!
For Those Who Think Young ... Rough Trade.

More new wave, Canadian this time.
Where I Should Be .... Peter Frampton.

Nos and sealed virgin vinyl before I opened it this morning.

Would this class as a " super hot stamper" ? Lol.
Brian
This is downsized from last house ... Lol.
1.3 acres.
Last house was 3.5acres.

Sometimes Arizona or Nevada looks good. Rocks , cacti and sand!
Livin in the 20th Century ... Steve Miller Band.

Very Nice SQ on this one, does not hurt it was another sealed NOS album before tonight.
Yes it is, as are the vast majority of the Alan Parsons output imho.
Think I have 10 albums total and cannot say as there is a bad one among the lot of them.
