Van Morrison / Wavelength
1978 Warner Bros.

Such an enjoyable recording, great songs and fabulous SQ. The final track “Take It Where You Find It” leaves me wanting more…

+1 on JJ & Mofro Steve, I see they’re doing a presale of Country Ghetto on vinyl. I wish they’d do Orange Blossoms.

The Rolling Stones / Hot Rocks 1964-1971
1971 abkco/London

Outstanding compilation double LP in song selection but SQ varies widely.

The Doors / S-T
1967 Elektra

Amazing debut album, great content, imaging, decent SQ

@tgilb @slaw I too preordered Déjà Vu to replace my 1970 original and am hoping for the best. The last couple reissues I’ve received were not so great. I agree with @mammothguy54 on the digital sounding Thick As A Brick compared to my original and MFSL’s 45rpm of Brothers In Arms generally doesn’t surpass my original copy’s SQ and imaging.

hey @bslon Terry Allen on Austin City Limits this week. Can probably find it online.

Thanks, I’ve seen it and it’s great! Recommended!

Prince And The Revolution / Purple Rain

Still on the ‘phones, killer…

Steve Miller Band / Greatest Hits 1974-78
1978 Capitol

One of the better ‘greatest hits’ albums, great content and high fidelity. Fun playing it with headphones.

Counting Crows / August and Everything After
2012 Analogue Productions 45rpm, orig. 1993

Bob Marley & The Wailers / Natty Dread
1974 Island

Fantastic album, sounds so good!

The Beach Boys / Surfer Girl
2014 Analogue Productions, orig. 1963

Outstanding SQ, noise-free vinyl by AP

@sbank Thanks for the Paul Rodgers tip Spencer, a copy’s on its way. Spell check wants to change it to “Rogers” again…

Bad Company / Run With The Pack
1976 Swan Song

Got stuck on Bad Company this evening, dig the band and Paul Rogers’ vocals. Great SQ going on, too.

David Bowie / Changesonebowie
1976 RCA

Nice song selections, great SQ

Van Morrison / Moondance
1970 Warner Bros.

Fabulous album, content, sonics, everything. A reference disc here and a ‘go to’ when visitors ask me to “play something”. It can’t always be Aja! 😎

Led Zepplin / Presence
1976 Swan Song

Kinda freaky pics of people posed with a mini-monolith adorn the jacket and gatefold. Not my favorite LZ album. Better SQ on Houses.

The Sons Of Champlin / Loosen Up Naturally
1969 Capitol

The vibraphone and saxophone on “Get High”, pretty cool.

Santana / S-T
1969 Columbia

This copy plays like it’s been through one too many party’s over the years…☹️

Dan Hicks And His Hot Licks / Striking It Rich
1972 Blue Thumb

Excellent SQ, great album. The female vocals, so nice!

Hey Tom, I also have Deodato 2 (1973 CTI) which too has some good covers. I agree that the CTI records usually sound pretty good. But I usually go with that MCA label because of “Peter Gunn”. 😎

Thanks for the compliment @dayglow. I don’t often rate the SQ unless it’s way better or worse than my average. It’s so subjective, like the previous comments on Rough Mix. Excepting Deodato, what I played last night I’d consider reference SQ, about as good as it gets. Especially Breezin’.  Deodato Average +, or 7.5? On my system…

JL veered me off jazz and onto

The Wonderful Sounds of Female Vocals / S-T
2018 Analogue Productions

A double LP of demo tracks

Julie London / Julie Is Her Name
1955 Liberty (Japanese Import)

Featuring Barney Kessel, Howard Roberts

Stan Getz~Charlie Byrd / Jazz Samba
1962 Verve

I think I need to play more jazz…
