Teaser and the Firecat ... Cat Stevens |
Jackson Browne ( saturate before using) S/T debut album. |
@slaw .
Too funny. I had just picked up my copy of Strikes by Blackfoot ready to spin up! |
The Grand Illusion ... Styx.
During the late 70,s if I was not playing Rush it would be Styx. |
|
Fame and Fortune ... Bad Company |
The Pretender ... Jackson Browne |
Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere .... Rossington Collins Band
Southern rock with a twist with Dale Krantz handling vocal duties. Not many southern rock bands with female vocals.
A real shame this band was born from tragedy.... |
Let it Flow .... Dave Mason
|
10-4 Tomic!
It is a good album indeed. Even when I am not playing vinyl I keep my eye on what being played in here for more great ideas.
Like Jamesclarke reminding me of Focus.
Maybe that and Strawbs up next. |
Change of direction.
Vulture Culture ... The Alan Parsons Project.
|
The Dream of the Blue Turtles .... Sting |
Harder Faster .... April Wine.
Bit of classic hair metal for the afternoon 😉 |
Cabin Fever .... The Michael Stanley Band |
James Gang Rides Again .... James Gang |
White City:A Novel .... Pete Townsend.
Fantasmagorical SQ! |
A great haul there Slaw.
My copy of White City is original issue. And pristine.
Next up
Pieces of Eight ... Styx.
Pomp rock at its finest! |
@reubent .
Glad I am not on my own for the love of it.
No I have not seen the movie yet,it is on my to-do list. Would like to find it on DVD. Heck BluRay with a 7.1soundtrack Would be heaven ... Lol.
The production and SQ on the vinyl is truly special. A fantastic system change test record.
I was also using it to evaluate small changes on my phono stage with ceramic cones and les Davis 3d2 pads. |
@slaw
I do have Boogie Brothers but you do NOT want to know how much it cost!
Let's just say it was a far cry from my $1 bargain bins.....
Let me know what you think! |
Its a toss up between lookin' in or raw Sienna for myself, tough call.
Nearly all output is worth listening to no matter what era
|
@slaw
Enjoy!
That is actually the only ARS album I own!
Must rectify that some day! |
@slaw
When do you sleep?
Lol.
Heart like a Wheel ... Linda Ronstadt |
Home..... Time for just one record before bed... But what a record!
What If ...... Dixie Dregs. |
Very interesting Slaw. I have most of the Cars output on original vinyl, no MFSL, but been a while since I listened to the S/T one.
Escape from Ohio ongoing right now! Be home about 11pm hopefully. Might just have to fire up the rig before bed...... Severe withdrawal symptoms! |
Have Shake it Up as well Slaw. Might sound like I do not need worry about any MFSL copies of The Cars. |
Kevin, Glad you are home safely from your trip Thank yoo Tom A real pity circumstances did not work out better but with the pandemic getting worse it was probably all for the best this time around. And yes Night meets Light was a great wind down closer for the night! |
The Turn of a Friendly Card ... The Alan Parsons Project.
First of the bunch I bought from a booth in an antiques mall while working in Wisconsin last week.
All between $4 and $8 and in excellent shape. |
Run With the Pack ... Bad Company.
Very nice SQ on this one too. |
|
The Distance to Here ..... Live.
2017 European reissue. |
Everything is only pennies Tomic. Just stop counting after a couple hundred...😇😇 |
Nirvana Studio Out-takes 89-91 bootleg.
Cannot find any information on this anywhere. Its a double album with plain white labels. SQ is pretty good if it’s a real bootleg.
Paid pennies for it........ |
Its definitely a sickness from which there is very little hope of a full recovery to a normal life......
Went to my LRS today because, you know I dont have any records at home to play.....
He had just bought a collection from an old radio station jockey. LOTS of white label promo copies. My wallet groaned. Whats a guy to do....... |
Now I have played tracks of all 4 sides of my Nirvana bootleg this is what it appears to be. One record is the complete mtv unplugged in New York album with quite a bit better sq. But in a jumbled order from the official release. The other record is definitely lower quality outtakes and demos.
Still a pretty neat album overall. |
The Byrds ... ( untitled ) .
A gift from a friend..... |
@slaw .
Yes indeed!
Also received a copy of Frank Marino Live too.
I had told him I had a copy of Dream of The Blue Turtles by Sting spare if he wanted it ( for some reason I had 3 copies!).
He brought those round as exchange which I had not intended but extremely gratefull to say the least.
Good to have friends. Even better to have good friends! |
Buffalo Springfield S/T. 180g Mono reissue |
Somewhere in Afrika ..... Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
Fresh us cleaned |
Best of The Alan Parsons Project. |
The Pacific Age ... O.M.D
Stunning SQ.
Not played this in forever!
|
Dragonfly ... Jefferson Starship. |
Just back from work in Kentucky with half a suitcase full of new to me vinyl.
Three great record stores in one town! Vinyl is definitely on the up and up.
Just one tonight though as already been a long day and just wanted to make sure the new to me SOTA Moonbeam works just fine.... Which it does. And the Grado Black it came with sounds pretty decent to boot... Score!
Tormato ... Yes. |
@reubent
Shucks I was ripped off …. lol I paid $2.99......
|
Hey Slaw, how are you my friend!
So you managed to just find an odd thousand or so extra lps lying around?
Holy moly!
|
Slaw That works for me..... Have to try that one on the wife and see what happens......
|
Sweet Freedom .... Uriah Heep.
Not one of their finest...... |
Just as an observation I do find it quite amusing that the OP,s of the most frequented and active music threads are not actually active any longer on said threads.
My streaming thread an exception but that's just driven by myself and too proud to let it fade into ignominy. |
Desolation Angels .... Bad Company |
Eye in the Sky .... Alan Parsons Project. |
First Glance .... April Wine |
