This -> "It doesn’t really need to be categorized though, you know.  Good stuff."

This is a really good record. It's a double LP and it sounds GREAT! Stream it, then buy it on vinyl if you like it...

Aaron Parks - "Little Big"

Orlando Cachaito Lopez - "Cachaito"

Cuban Jazz. Buena Vista Social Club Presents...

Back from a week of skiing in Breckenridge, CO. Haven't listened to an LP in two weeks due to tossing out the old sofa and waiting for the replacement. Finally! First record after this break...

Matthew Sweet - "Girlfriend" - Intervention Records - Artist-approved 2xLP expanded edition.

@slaw  and @zm

Thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes!

Let's see if I get to my other Birthday LP tonight - Titus Andronicus - "The Monitor". I've been streaming it a bit over the last couple of months. I liked it quite a bit at first, but the singer's vocals have started to grate on me. Let's see if the vinyl version makes it more enjoyable.
The Elvis Costello Show - "King of America"

A gift on vinyl, for my Birthday today. I've owned it on CD since it was released so many years ago. In my top 3-4 Elvis Costello albums......
Guys,

I've been busy riding bikes, buying bikes, selling bikes, building bikes........ Typical obsessive stuff, you know, like LPs and LP Playback gear. Still trying to get in 2000 miles this summer and also keep my 16 year old interested in the hobby.

I've been listening to music, but mostly streaming for convenience. Haven't spent much time in the cave lately, so very few LPs. Also, my best LRS is curbside pickup only. What's the fun in that?

I'll be back when the days get shorter and it gets cooler. Until then, Enjoy the Music (on vinyl).
Jethro Tull - "Songs From the Wood"

Just arrived from The UK

40th Anniversary Edition - The Steven Wilson Remix

Sounds Great. I always loved "Ring Out, Solstice Bells", "The Whistler", "Pibroch (Cap in Hand)" and "Fire at Midnight"

@bslon

The Association / Greatest Hits!

Love it! "Never My Love" is (IMHO) one of the greatest songs EVER!

Plus, on the greatest hits record you get "Windy", "Cherish" and "Along Came Mary".

Unfortunately, you don't get my second favorite song from The Association - "Wantin' Ain't Gettin'". Check it out if you don't know it...

Hey Guys, it's my 6000th post! Only took 21 years to achieve, and just over a year since I reached the 5000 post milestone.

So, what's a man to do for his 6000th post? Post the latest LP to be put on the TT to the best thread on AudiogoN, of course!

Without further ado, I present to you...

Pete Townshend - "White City"

@tunehead  - Welcome to the best thread on AudiogoN! Congrats on the new cartridge. How's it sounding of you?

Continuing the playing of local bands from here in Cincinnati.... Just arrived in the mail today...

500 Miles to Memphis - "Blessed be the Damned"

Americana Punk Rock! Pretty great album IMHO. Not an audiophile album. Unfortunately, the copy I received is warped all to heck. Gonna try to get a replacement from 500MTM, and hope their entire stock is no afflicted. BTW, I ordered direct from their site and they threw in a couple of nice "gifts" and a brief handwritten note.

A little light lunchtime listening.... ;~)

Titus Andronicus - "The Monitor"

The enemy is everywhere
The enemy is everywhere
The enemy is everywhere
The enemy is everywhere
But nobody seems to be worried or care
That the enemy is everywhere

What a romp...

@tunehead

My fist MC. Softer sounding (not as loud at same volume setting as my MM)

Hate to ask, but, you did change the switch from MM to MC on your phono stage to increase the gain to match the lower output of the MC cartridge?

And yes, I believe all cartridges benefit from 50-100 hours of break-in. Should improve gradually over time until you get some hours on it.

I haven't had an MC cartridge in a long time. The phono section in my current integrated amp only supports MM cartridges.

Just getting to LP # 2 of Titus Andronicus - "The Monitor" after listening to LP # 1 at lunchtime today.

Queen - "A Night at the Opera"

My 18 y.o. son wanted to hear it. Can't say no...

The Bears - Self Titled

Adrian Belew + Psychodots = The Bears. Some of Cincinnati's finest.
Red House Painters - Songs for a Blue Guitar (re-issue Double LP)

Make Like Paper is a killer..........

If you like Neil Young or Wilco, check this out.
Supertramp - Brother Where You Bound.

Recorded after the exit of Roger Hodgson, but is probably my favorite Supertramp record. More consistent than any of the other Supertramp records IMHO. I almost always listen to it all the way through. Not a clunker in the bunch.
Listened to Red House Painters - Songs for a Blue Guitar again tonight. Good record. Nice quality double LP. The song "Make Like Paper" is at the top of my current favorites list.
astro58go,

I bought Red House Painters - Songs for a Blue Guitar based on your post. Thanks....

However, I bought Brother Where You Bound in 1985! ;~) Been in regular rotation since then.
palasr,

Thanks for your post about the 12" single of Supertramp's 'Cannonball". I took a look on eBay and found one in the UK. It's on the way to my house. Hopefully its the correct one. It is a 12" 45 RPM single. Side 1 is Cannonball (Direct to Disk Version) and Side 2 is Cannonball (Instrumental). Looking forward to hearing it.
This morning I was craving some calming music to set the mood for the beginning of my day. Picked a perfect choice:

Al Stewart - Year of the Cat

Nice way to ease into the day........
a58g,

Glad you enjoyed it. I think it's a great softer rock record. Good early morning wake-up call or nighttime sign-off...

I've really enjoyed this thread, along with "what's playing on your system" and "what's in your CD player". I've found some great music, or was reminded of some old favorites.

I worked late this evening and stopped in the local Half Price Books on the way home. Picked up a few LP's to spin on the Pro-Ject tonight. Got the following:

Jeff Beck - Performing This Week.... Live at Ronnie Scott's (new 180G)
The Knack - Get the Knack (used)
Bruce Springsteen - The River (used)
Emmylou Harris with Spyboy - Live in Germany 2000 (new DMM cutting)
