I felt the same about the albums Sklar, Russ Kunkel, Danny Kortchmar, and Craig Doerge made in the 1970's, when they were known as The Section. Good musicians, not good music. Happens all the time. ;-)
@bdp24
I have one of their albums, Fork It Over, which is imho pretty darn good.
I felt it was cohesive and was actually what I would define as good music and a great test record to boot.
Or am I just showing my poor taste here.... lol
Slaw
Just inserted the Hydra 2 and Diamondback pc this morning.
Also got a bonus Venom Defender plug in module thrown in.
Going to spin Trigger Hippy later when I am relaxed which with daughter thinking her world is ending after her surgery might only be accomplished with the aid of some liquid comfort!!

I have the Hydra 2 sitting on the tiled floor while I decide what to do, isolate or support.
Nice to see someone bringing a bit of class to the rowdy rabble assembled here......
😇😇
Magic Potion ... The Black Keys.

Another new Insound purchase.

SQ seems a little flat to my ears, not bad just not much dynamics or sparkle.
Love it Reubent
Should say the vinyl is new to me, played it many times on Tidal and saw it in the Insound sale so it came last week with some more goodies that will be up later!
I was not inferring it sounded flat to me because it was an Insound purchase.
Just that it sounded flat, period.
Have never heard it on vinyl previously but it seemed the Tidal streamed version was more lively.
I had two lower end Grado carts that came with different tables I have owned over the years.
Both had a distinct hum that could not be cured.

One reason I chose the Ortofon Mono Cart over a Grado offering.
Talking Dreams ... Echosmith.

The Jico S.A.S stylus is breaking in nicely and the initial brightness is starting to fade and mid and bass gaining strength.

Sweet....
Rise ... Skillet.

Maybe classified as Christian Rock but these guys rocked hard and LOUD when I caught them live in Wisconsin 2017.
Awake ... Skillet

By far my fave Skillet album.
For a " Christian Rock" act the crowd went ape when the opening riff of Monster rang out!
@reubent

I only managed to pick up a copy a few weeks ago.

I remember back in the day when "White punks on Dope" came out. Literally blew me away!

They were huge in the 🇬🇧 at the time mainly from that song!
Hey Boxer.
See you mentioned The Julie Ruin the other night.
I assume you are also familiar with Sleater-Kinney as well?
If not well worth checking out as similar vein.
Well looks like do not have any Night Ranger vinyl, serious omission!

Red Octopus ... Jefferson Starship.
Not for me ... Lol
Sat night is movie night, have to keep the better half content.
Followed by...

Eve ... The Alan Parsons Project

This sounds REALLY sweet on the old Dual 1019 cw Shure M91E with a Jico SAS stylus.
Almost makes me think I should keep this TT rather than be selling it!
You're Never Alone With a Schizophrenic .... Ian Hunter.

Obviously very Mott The Hoople sounding.

Which is a very good thing of course.
