Brewer and Shipley - "Tarkio"

Found a sealed copy in the used record bin at my LRS today. $5.99 to the man and out the door I went.... Really good record and love that quiet, new record sound.....
The Art of Noise featuring  Duane Eddy - "Peter Gunn" Extended Version - 12" extended single. Nice, NM copy, in shrink, plucked from the $1 bin at my LRS today.
Bob Welch - "French Kiss" - Another pick from the $1 bin at my LRS today. I had this album on 8-Track when it first released in 1977. I saw Elvin Bishop, Bob Welch and Dave Mason on tour that year at Memorial Coliseum, Lexington, KY. I still have the ticket stub. Price for good seats to the show - $6.50.

The Pretender. This one might be going in the bin :(

Don't like the music, or poor quality of your copy? I've always liked "The Pretender".

Hey guys, I started a new thread asking for recommendations for a new record brush. Haven't has one since sometime in the '90s when I got rid of my discwasher. Feel free to reply here. Or better yet, reply to my separate thread asking for recommendations.
Anyone go to Black Friday Record Store Day yesterday? I missed it due to being out of town. But I might go tonight and pick through the left-overs. Didn't really see anything on the list that I wanted, except Sheryl Crow  "Tuesday Night Music Club". But at $35 MSRP, still not sure I'm interested. Great album, but $35 is steep....
@slaw - Are you saying you have The Teskey Brothers - "Half Mile Harvest" on 45 RPM vinyl?
@6t5-gto - I was a big fan of YAZ and Allison Moyet back in the day and I still enjoy it. That girl can sing.........
@6t5-gto - Cool, and thanks for supporting the little guy. Get anything good? I saw that Devo record listed and I also passed because it is a picture disc. I only own a couple of picture discs, and they are from the late '70's/early '80's and they do not sound good. Until I hear otherwise, I will avoid them.
Guys,

Here is the Discogs link for the RSD Sheryl Crow - "Tuesday Night Music Club" issue. Already several reports of poor pressing quality. Glad I decided not to jump on it at $35.

My first Christmas song of the season - The Waitresses - "Christmas Wrapping" from the album - "I Could Rule the World if I Could Only Get the Parts"
Vangelis - "Heaven and Hell" - Love Jon Anderson singing "So Long Ago So Clear"
@Uberwaltz - I remember Starz. I saw them open for somebody back in the day. Must have been ’77, ’78 or so.
@uberwaltz - I much prefer enjoying $1 original records when I can find them. I do not enjoy paying $30-$60 for new "audiophile" releases. I only have a very few of them.

Regarding The Alarm: One of my favorite bands. I just saw them 2 weeks ago in Cincinnati, in a small club that seats 300. It was outstanding. I also bought their new album - "Equals". It is not their best, but it is good and it's classic Alarm. But it is better than most new records from bands that have been around for 35-40 years.

If you are at all interested in Mike Peters and/or The Alarm, check out this video when you have 30 minutes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFuTjEKblG4

And Thank You for all your music posts. I really enjoy them and the little music community we have going here.
Elvin Bishop - "Hog Heaven"

1978 release, bought out of the cutout bin sometime around 1980-82. Don't recall if I ever even listened to it back them. Nothing on it sounds familiar, but it's not bad. It's also super clean, like a brand new record.
@uberwaltz - That would be a definite "NO" regarding 7" singles. I'm WAY too lazy for cleaning, storing and playing one or two songs at a time. Heck, I don't even like the practice of re-issuing original LPs on 2-LP sets. Too much effort for the same amount of music. I do enjoy the sound quality, but don't know if it could be just as good on a quality 2 sided LP vs. pressing it on 2 LPs (4 sides).
Brewer and Shipley - "Tarkio"

Good record overall. Contains the famous single - "One  Toke Over the Line", but the rest of the record is just as good, or better.
Ahmad Jamal - "Portfolio of Ahmad Jamal"

Original 1959 release - ARGO LP 2638, Registration # S 4216 A, whatever that means..

Gifted to me from my Father in Law.

@uberwaltz - I had forgotten "Heartbeat City" until I saw it listed here recently (maybe by you). Have owned the LP since back when it was originally released. Anyway, put it on a couple of weeks ago and BAM! Great stuff.......
Don Shirley - "Piano"

Another 1959 Release gifted to my by my father-in law.
Frank Sinatra - "Come Dance With Me"

1959 UK Pressing - Capitol SLCT 6179

The last of the interesting ones from the hand me down stash from my fatter-in-law.

Really not my cup-o-tea, but the sound quality is pretty fantastic.
Loggins and Messina - "Mother Lode"

Pulled this "gifted" record off the shelf after seeing it mentioned on the recent "If you could only keep 5 albums" thread. Can't say I remember ever listening to it before. Well, its a crappy copy. Beat up and very noisy. Otherwise sounds like a pretty good record. I'll hold judgement until I've been al the way through it. That is, if I can tolerate the noise.
Emerson, Lake and Palmer - "Tarkus" - Picked up this morning from the "new today" used record bin at my LSR. Thanks to Nutty for the mention of Tarkus in another thread.
@slaw - Good to see you back. Are you gonna post your records played for 48 hours straight again this weekend? :~)
@slaw - I'm too lazy to pull out the BOC record to check on who mastered it. Maybe next time. Or, I could just listen to the good side..........
