But I think Ayers sounds like Sinclair who sings like Latimer who sings like Bardens, etc. None of them were great vocalists and all used that kind of muffled throaty talking/singing style.
A very good valid observation and I think you are correct in that NONE of them were truly a great singer as that really was not their major talent but I guess they were the best of the remainder of the band... lol.
And good morning Spirit, wet and rainy here too.
In fact Florida has been so unreal in June so far, normally high 90,s to 100,s by now. instead we are down in high 70,s  low 80,s.
Odd but I will take it!
I do not Spirit but will add it to my Qobuz list... which just seems to get ever larger.
Lol.
Right now.

Time Passages .... Al Stewart.
Being the anal snot that I am I could not rest with the 5 pin din connection knowing how shoddy the soldering was inside.
So ripped it out, sucked all the old solder out the pins, cleaned up the wires and redid each one with just a dainty drop of solder not big lugs of it like it was. Soldering done right only needs a teeny amount of actual solder.... and a good iron.... and a steady hand.
Oh well two out of three ain’t bad.......
Great run of Bowie albums Boxer.

I just bought Scary Monsters today!

Rust Never Sleeps is possibly my fave Young album.

Talk in Code .... Glen Burtnick.
The Times They are A-Changing ..... Bob Dylan mono.

I am mighty impressed with my new mono setup.
Bob is sitting on his high stool between my speakers playing an in house concert just got me.😉😉
@slaw

I bought the Walker from a fellow member here and it does indeed hold speed absolutely rock solid after it has been set up with a strobe.
I did this on both 33 and 45 and there is no fluctuations at all now.

Not had a Wave Mechanic.
Is this " what's on your turntable" or "what's on the tarmac"?

Just kidding.

My weapon of choice for the local dirt was a beat to heck Suzuki rm125. It was unbreakable, and believe me I tried many times!
For the road? Kawasaki Z900.
Gto.
No I am in NEFL.
It's good enough but roads are no fun, traffic is just stupid nowadays with everybody and their dog on the phone while behind the wheel of a guided missile ready to decapitate innocent bikers.

Rant over, no more vinyl until tomorrow night.
Reubent, Slaw, Gto at Al.
Sorry fell asleep last night ...lol
Now on vacation for weekend.
But bikes and myself go back LONG way.
Tbh, it might be easier and quicker to state what I have not owned!

Slaw would say I have carried over my bike constant changes to my audio equipment ..... Lmfao.

He is probably right!

Only readon do not ride right now is Florida, it's as boring as can be and the police in my county HATE bikers with a vengeance.
Human Lib .... Howard Jones

SQ on this is pretty sublime, very well recorded imho.
Operation Mindcrime.... Queensryche.

Revolution calling indeed!

Another album begging to be remastered and rereleased on 2xlp.
Crammng near 30 minutes aside and sq suffers a lot.
Criminal on this masterpiece.
Noromance.
I think ...... Odd sums it up perfectly.
Not Quite what I was expecting, in fact its only just finished and I have trouble remembering any of the tracks that played. No stand outs for sure.
Maybe it will grow on me with time.
Ha!
I like that comparison Noromance.
Pretty accurate... for a while at least.
Classic  Heep can really be summed up in three albums.

Look at Yourself, Demons and Wizards and Magicians Birthday.

Anything else is definitely downhill from those highs.

imho of course.......
So I just had to play something to redeem my opinion of Uriah Heep and knew what it had to be.

Look at Yourself ...... Uriah Heep.

I still think July Morning was their finest hour.

I would probably have to rank High & Mighty alongside Abominog as being a bit of a turd.
Syd was another sad case of a wasted talent.
Makes me wonder how Floyd would have turned out if he could have stayed the course instead of blowing his mind completely to shreds......

Greg
Just this morning I was culling the collection again and I was surprised to see i hag 8 J.Geils Band albums. Three of which are live bootlegs which I really don’t remember acquiring... lol.
Going for a us clean and then see if they are any good.
The vast majority of what Slaw and Boxer plays I have never even heard of,  never mind heard ... Lol
Must get out more.......

Breathless ... Camel.
Rain Dances ... Camel.

Probably my fave Camel album although possibly not the best sonically.
@reubent

Interesting read.
I will be giving Jimbo a listen tonight on Tidal. They have that album and 4 or 5 albums under his sole name.
Thank you
Outstanding deal Tomic.
Good for you!.
110 lps sounds like a lot of fun.
The Floyd mofi in near mint is at least $100 on its own.

Pretty funny as I just sold 29 albums on CL tonight for $30 from my Sunday morning cull.

But whenever I look there is never anything, which is probably a good thing.   Lol.
@reubent

I know but I should open up my horizons a bit, I started last week. Bought a job lot of tapes with a lot of country, oldies, soul, r&b etc.
Found I was enjoying stuff i normally do not listen to and some of it really well recorded.

Will update later on the streaming thread.
Tomic
Never heard that one, on my Qobuz list now... Lol.
The only Neil Diamond record I can listen to all the way through is Taproot Manuscript.
LMAO bkeske.

I do have Avalon lined up to play later.
Keeping the links tenuous but nonetheless.
Glory Road .... Gillan.

Great album music wise.
Poor album SQ wise.
Can't complain too much for $4 though as it is minty.
DSOTM ... Pink Floyd.

Talking of Floyd, what would opinion be on best copy of The Wall to search out to buy?
