well you would need to visit the streaming thread more... lol
Been listening  to the Donnas along with groups like Veruca Salt for quite some time now.
I agree they do rock out!
Boxer.
Really funny you should say Greenville as we went there for 20th wedding anniversary this year before the world took a dump.
We really liked the city and the area and yes that is on our short list.

Spent a lot of time working in Grand Rapids too, in fact we have two new lines going in this year. If you know where the old GM Diesel engine factory is then you know where I will be later. A plastics company took it over few years back.
And yes glorious right now, not so nice in January though... lol.
Hey Boxer.
Just curious as to what part of the country you are in?
We have a strong Northwest contingent and a East and Southeast rabble... lol
Was streaming Barclay James Harvest earlier.
Which Really put me in the mood for one of my all time favorite albums.

Rain Dances .... Camel.
The Foo Fighters Greatest Hits.

Just picked this up in Walmart of all places and way cheaper than anywhere else online...go figure!
Nice try Katie but your memory must be failing you.
You have COUNTLESS posts where you have stated that all you have/use is Walkman and headphones.
Unless you have done an Elizabeth to them all.......
As I said I am not knocking that at all.

Please try and keep up old boy or maybe you were being very economical with the truth over the years?
If so please enlighten us all.

Oh and this is a thread where we try to stick to music and a little light hearted banter, there are lots of other threads you can get snarky in without ruining this one.

And I am SO thrilled to be on your shirt list.... whatever the heck that is.
Stay safe!
The Bears S/T featuring Adrian Belew.

NOS still sealed find.

Sounds glorious.

Actually Katie does NOT own a record reproduction system whatsoever.
Last I was aware he was totally off the grid using a Walkman cassette player and headphones.
Which I am not knocking at all as surprisingly good results can be had from Walkman cassette and CD players.

But one reason why I did not rise to his question with anything but poorly wrought wit.
😇😇
My daughter and I took a trip to our LRS today and she helped us to spend over $100 .... Lol.
She is as bad as I am in a record store!
Think it was $63/$47 split in my favor.

All being cleaned right now.
Well I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday as best they could.
Normal Memorial Day here as in it rained all day... lol.
I took an early morning bike ride and just beat the rain home at 9am and it’s not stopped since.
Least it should have helped with social distancing!
😇😇
Spirit.
i was just thinking along the same lines while listening.

The spatials manage a very neat trick of having an absolutely rock solid central image with vocals presented with great air and presence.
but at the same time the soundscape is deep and wide, I sometimes almost find myself looking over my shoulder for that cymbal hit or horn.
spooky good in other words!
Reubent.
Thats sort of funny but probably true!
Our local paths get fairly busy but more joggers and walkers than cyclists.
And they annoy the crap out of me!

Strolling or running in center of path, headphones or earbuds on full blast, oblivious to the rest of humanity  and then they glare at you when you about run them over because THEY could not hear your bike bell or even shout!
Ok, rant over.......

Love this Bears album, only been able to stream it previously.
Going Pink on Purpose .... 10cc.

Half live half b sides bootleg from 1975 American tour.
Greg
Im not big on bootlegs as usually the sq is terrible but this one caught my eye, price was not horrible and what the heck it is a neat addition to my extensive 10cc record collection.
And what do you know the sq is not too bad on this disc, quite a nice record overall imho.
At a Perfume Counter ..... Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Nice original 1961 Mono recording
Probably upset everyone here by saying I have never been a Deadhead at all.
Only own one Dead album and then only because it has Touch of Grey on it.... Lol.

Well I do have same album on both vinyl and cassette though....😂😂
Btw Slaw was looking at that Hydra 8, they have one for sale at TMR.

Interesting your opinion on it and that you can hear a difference.
Thanks Slaw.
My Only ac treatment is still the PPT Gate that is in my main breaker box.
Always wonder if I can do more although I do think it works extremely well compared to the background hash that was present before I installed the Gate.
You can tell I am not your hardened record collector as I did not know what the white label promo was.
Enlightened.......
Sorry but if this turns into what Dead is on your turntable tonight I’m out!
😂😂😂😂
Dakota S/T

Pretty unusual copy in that it says right on the label (which is white, itself unusual for Columbia)
“ demonstration copy, not for resale”

Used to seeing verbiage of promotional copy but not demonstration copy.
Slaw
No it is not yet as the table I had bought to run as dedicated mono arrived damaged.
Got full refund but has put a setback on the project for now while I decide what to do.
Just playing some of my mono records on my regular system.
Still sounds darn good.
It most certainly is Slaw.
I am sure there are other Dead albums I would like, just not a group I ever truly got into.
Sounds like a job for streaming......
Songs From Black Mountain ..... Live.

Spectacular in every way.

Pity they never released on vinyl, playing Cassette version.
Excellent information Slaw.
Many thanks for that.
It looks and sounds as the radio station did not play it much if at all.
Something else to look for now while at the lrs.
Slaw
Was not ANY criticism of Eric’s highly informative posts.
Did you see The emojis at the end.......

I think Dead and Hendrix are just two artists that will never push the right buttons for me.

Reading up about the Hydra 8 now......
May have to warm it up first with

Fork It Over by The Section.

See if it is as good as my memory tells me as unusual to be at odds with Eric’s views.
Switching to streaming now with my lazy ass stuck in my recliner and loving it... lol
Just winding down a cd I was playing I got from charity shop.
Really enjoyed it and thought yep will look for the vinyl.
Plan scuppered.....
Cheapest on Discogs was $400..... ouch.

The Second Stage Turbine Blade by Coheed & Cambria.
Lol at Slaw.

I will let Tomic explain it......

All I am going to say is we never described it with such verbiage back in good ol Blighty!
😁😁
Tomic
Never saw anything more after switching to streaming last night but funny you should ask this.
" Uber no self respecting Audiophile has a no name recliner.... the question is, does it have an upgraded power cord and fuse ?"

Well I did run a dedicated 20 amp line to it with an EquiCore 1200 conditioner. It runs on twin 15a feeds with Nordost Odin power cords and SR Orange fuses.
The only problem I had was on first startup when I had one of the fuses reversed and the darn thing went up and down faster on one side than the other!
Thought I was at the rodeo!
Quickly sorted and now running smooth as silk and has increased my listening pleasure approx 785% I would say.
Fork it Over by The Section is at least as good as I remember.
Probably better now as have two subs as well as the Spatial speakers since I last played it.
Darn awesome imho😇😇
Spirit.
Are they stereo but from mono originally?
If so that is pretty common , listen to some of the early Beatles stereo that was originally mono.
Same type of stuff occurred on a lot of early stereo records that were recorded as mono originally.

And nope to the Dr Carbon snake oil.
Going to have to order some.......

Greg
I must admit to Sweet and Slade being the best of the worst.... Lol.
In fact our band we did a cover of Ballroom Blitz by the Sweet... Lol

Slaw.
Not too sure on that as back in England they were referred to as The Sweet or just Sweet at varying times mostly by the musical press.
I am used to calling the British glam rock band of such notable hits as Little Willy, Wig Wam Bam etc( I kid you not on song titles) as The Sweet.
