@uberwaltz

I don't think it is his best from a songwriting or performance standpoint,  agreed, but sonically it is one of the best records ever made
Radiohead  - Kid A
Roger Waters  - Amused to Death  - AP 200g 45rpm  - SQ, staging, sound stage, dynamics are just so incredible. There aren't many equals to this one
Just for @reubent

Supertramp  - Brother Where you Bound  - NM OP that was part of a collection I bought a few weeks ago

@uberwaltz I wish I had more $1 per record big finds and awesome that most have worked out. I have struggled with some of my vintage vinyl purchases. My last one was $3.35 per record but the condition of the vinyl has been quite good

I am still kicking myself, I had a chance to buy 10K records for $10K and I passed, very good condition, almost every one was in a plastic sleeve, not a lot of crap...haunts me
Paul Simon  - There Goes Rhymin Simon  reissue, EX SQ
Jillian Welch - Soul Journey  -  phenomenal pressing, master, mix, vinyl quality, recording, excellent
@slaw I love that record and highly recommend the AP 200g 33rpm version. It is phenomenal and thinking about it has me spinning it as we speak. Excellent

@boxer12 great choice. Do you have Summer Sun by YLT on vinyl?
@slaw Aja is one of few 'perfect' records. Loves me some SD.

I would love to hear the report on Sketches of Spain.  Do you have a good copy of Seven Steps to Heaven?

Rod Stewart  - Every Picture Tells A Story - OP
@slaw nice catch on the 6 eye OP of Someday, I would still guess that one sounds excellent. I need more of those $1 finds

You are a man of strong restraint, it was everything I could do to stop working at the house and shove everyone out of my listening room within 5 mins of it arriving at my doorstep. I already have 4 runs through it.

Springsteen  - Nebraska  - almost mint OP,  very very good
@slaw you ever going to listen to that Marvin Gaye? Or you gonna send it back sealed?
Oh
Miles Davis  - Someday My Prince Will Come  - Analogue Productions 200g 33rpm, I am fairly convinced that APs 200g stuff is some of the best pressed vinyl ever. So great
@reubent thanks, that is exactly what I needed, more vinyl! I picked out 11 records but some rat bastad got the last copies of Autobahn and Making Movies, that snake! Hopefully they are all pristine.

Marvin Gaye  - What's Going On  - Mofi One Step  - staggeringly good, not sure if it is better than the S&G one before it but it sounds phenomenal. Side 3 is so great

Elvis 24K Hits  - AP 45rpm 200gram  - superb

Steve Miller- Fly Like an Eagle  - original MFSL 140g, very good
Rolling Stones  - Beggars Banquet  50th reissue  - SQ is very good except I have the same issue others have reported which sounds like a groove noise or the sound of the master tape squealing in between tracks and in quiet passages. Bummer, likely going to return it
@big_greg I totally get it, a bunch of folks pitched a fit when Mofi put out the first One Step for $100 and felt that Mofi was fleecing folks. I can understand their issues with the pricing but I also understand a bit about the One Step process and why it would be so expensive to manufacture. The next release in the run is Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, I am pretty stoked because I love that record but the cost is going to $125 and Mofi cites it is due to an improvement in vinyl to JVC type 'SuperVinyl' I also found out recently that they are 'cryogenically' treating the stampers to further improve their consistency over stamps.
All I can say is that I own the Bridge Over Troubled Water version and it is one of, if not the best, piece of vinyl that I own. I have the Donald Fagen as well and it is MUCH BETTER than the three original pressings I owned before.
Also, if you get a copy and don't think it is worth it you can get out of it what you pay for it or more. My two cents
Johnny Cash  - Original Sun Singles 55 to 58 - reproduction on the Sundazed record label. Absolutely excellent, there is some original tape hiss that is not mixed out but the sound quality and vinyl are excellent! Super great.
@big_greg  did you know that Mofi has Blood on the Tracks queued up as one of the upcoming One Step releases? Should sound pretty phenomenal (which it should for $125) so if you are big on that disc it should be worth it

This morning  -
Led Zep- Physical Graffiti  -  OP
Simon and Garfunkel  - Bridge  - Mofi One Step
Paul Simon  - Graceland  - EX reissue
+1 on slaw's suggestion of the most recent reissue of The Wall, it sounds awesome

3rd playing of the newest Mark Knopfler  - Down the Road Wherever, really impressed, excellent in all respects
@slaw not sure what happened to my last message, didn't post
The copy of 1000 Kisses by Patty Griffin showed up today. So incredibly great.
The vinyl is not the best and you will want to run it thru the cleaner first but the SQ is excellent. Her voice and guitar is mic-ed  very well and the songs are so great on this record. When it first came out I couldn't stop listening to it. Constant rotation for about a year. My kids are all fans and my daughter and I have seen her together a few times. She is great live as well.

Glad you enjoyed AE!
@slaw thanks for the heads up, ordered a copy of 1000 Kisses off Amazon ($16 seems cheap??) And it should be here tomorrow, I will report. But her first 3 albums are amazing, highly recommended, phenomenal song writing

Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle  - vintage Mofi, wow, really great, huge soundstage
@slaw huge Patty Griffin fan but didn't realize some of her stuff was on vinyl. 1000 Kisses is, IMHO, one of the top 5 records of the last 20 or so years.

Just got back from Chicago and Wisc and while in Chicago bought a few goodies at Music Direct, great people over there, I recommend it.
Earlier
Elvis  - 24 Karat Hits on AP 200g 45rpm vinyl,  absolutely awesome. I was hoping they would reissue it on 33rpm but tired of waiting
Mark Knopfler-  The Road  Wherever  - holy smokes if that ain't a reference record,  amazing SQ
On now:
REM  - Lifes Rich Pgent - Mofi  - I have been looking for a copy of this record that wasn't stupidly priced. $30, sold
Next
Genesis  - Lamb Lies Down on Broadway  - reissue on 180g
@uberwaltz you in S FL?

Van Halen  - 1984 - OP
Supertramp  - Paris - this copy is very, very good
@reubent great list, did you see that Honda reissued the old Monkey bike?

Allman Brothers  - Live at the Fillmore East disc 1 OP
Lynyrd Skynyrd  - Pronounced Lynyrd Skynyrd- OP
Steely Dan  - The Royal Scam  - from the same collection, not as clean as the Cant Buy...but very good nonetheless and better than my other original pressing. Love this record

My current bikes are a bazillion times faster than those bikes of my youth but those things could scare me and make me know I was alive
I spent time as a kid on a YZ80 and then rode some street back in the 80s but gave up bikes when I became a single father. About 12 years ago the bug hit again, badly, and I currently have 4 in the garage. Like I needed another hobby!

Steely Dan  - Can't Buy a Thrill  - really great sounding OP that was part of the collection I bought last weekend
@slaw I need that Bill Withers and I picked up a great OP of Promise not too long ago. Always loved that record

Steely Dan  - Aja - OP , fantastic
Eric Clapton  - Slowhand  - OP and this one needs some cleanup work, SQ is VG but vinyl is noisy
@reubent so what is your favorite Jimbo Mathus record?

Tonight- listened to Willie Nelson - Greatest Hits again, phenomenal sound quality and staging
Derek and the Dominoes- Layla side 3 and 4
Supertramp  - Crime of the Century
Bruce Springsteen  - Darkness at the Edge of Town- Half Speed Mastered
Jeff Beck  - Wired- excellent
Tom Petty  - Full Moon Fever
@slaw thanks, Slaw. I don't have the ears I used to but I could definitely hear how great the remastering is on the Tom Petty box, I agree with you, I can't recommend that box set enough, awesome.

Long couple of days sorting thru 550 records I purchased from a guy off Craigslist. Unfortunately I put about 300 of them right back in the boxes and sold them at a local RS.
Good news is with a mild cleaning all of the ones I have played so far sound very, very good and everything is an original pressing.
Currently playing Willie Nelson- Greatest Hits, excellent
Dire Straights  - Love Over Gold  - almost perfect
Derek and the Dominoes  - Layla and.., very very good
The Police  - Ghost in the Machine  - Nautalis SuperDiscs  - great
Kraftwerk- Trans Europe Express  - very very good
Ravel on original Mofi
Bernie Krause - Citadels  - Mofi

Damn the Torpedoes sounds phenomenal, better than original pressing

Hard Promises  - really great
Making my way through the Tom Petty box set

TP & the HBs  - S/T First Album  - very good

TP & the HBs - You're Gonna Get It  - excellent, way better than expected, they really did a brilliant remaster on this one. Title track sounds unbelievable.
The Doors/Jim Morrison - An American Prayer  - record store day copy on Red Vinyl,  really great,

Chet Baker  -  Chet Baker Quartet  - on Sam record label from France, very very good

Gene Ammonds  -  Nice an' Cool  - Analogue Productions 200g, phenomenal
@slaw this copy is pretty darn quiet. No complaints about the vinyl quality.
Also, I got a few gift cards to my favorite record store and they had a sealed copy of the Tom Petty vol 1 box set so I made it happen (along with about 10 other new records.
Finished Full Moon Fever
Currently spinning Southern Accents - both are very good but SA is a bit bright on the high end

Welcome @Si
Gillian Welch - Soul Journey  - wow, what a recording
Drumming - interesting album of drums and other instruments
Beatles  - White Album  - new reissue,  pretty stellar
Followed by a little:
Strauss  -  Also Sprach Zarathustra,  Op 30 on Analogue Productions 200g -  Living Stereo label, incredible SQ and dynamics. Feels like the movie will start any second

Alan Parsons  - I Robot  - 45rpm Mofi
Getting into the Christmas spirit

AC/DC  - Highway to Hell - loud.  Very loud. - Original pressing
@slaw I find the AP 200g stuff (33 and 45) to be pretty impeccable, very flat and almost always perfectly cut on center. I think it was some of the Classic Vinyl stuff that suffered from off center cuts and some quality issues but the AP stuff is excellent. Not cheap by any standards but it is well worth it. Can't recommend it enough.

Hey, if you have any interest in the Simon and Garfunkel Bridge Over Troubled Water Mofi One Step my local Record Store still has a new copy for $109? Saw it yesterday.

Earlier  - Depeche Mode  - Violator
Now The Cure  - Greatest Hits  - reissue  - excellent
Gerry Mulligan meets Ben Webster  - AP 200g 33rpm  -  phenomenal SQ, dead quiet vinyl, great performance, stellar
Miles Davis  - Relaxin' - AP 200g
Lightning Hopkins  - Soul Blues  - AP 300g, so great

@slaw thank you, Sir
Cart is definitely broken in and sounding great and I have been listening to a bunch of my Analogue Productions stuff lately and it just sounds so friggin incredible on the new table. Still very happy with it
Willie Dixon  - Willie's Blues  - Analogue Productions 200g 33rpm,  freaking awesome, I will own everything they press
@krelldog loves me some Bridge of Sighs, great album and wishing I had never sold off my pristine copy of it years ago. Have it on CD but you just reminded me I need to find another good copy it. Hello Discogs
Patsy Cline  - Greatest Hits  - Analogue Productions 33rpm 200g  - pretty outstanding, slightly bright
@slaw that should be a great time, enjoy the show!

Now playing:

Miles- Seven Steps to Heaven  - Analogue Productions  33rpm 200gram,  I can't recommend anything enough that is on AP 33rpm or 45rpm 200g vinyl. It is just perfect, from the SQ to the mastering to the mix to the vinyl quality, so perfect that it makes less than perfect hard to tolerate.
@slaw where is the Alejandro show?

@boxer12  Reckoning is a great live Dead album. I love that record.

Nick Cave  - Push the Sky Away

Playing now: Burning Spear  - Garvey's Ghost (dub version) recommended by my source at Waterloo Records, he almost never let's me down and this one is awesome. Super dynamic, great SQ, crazy low end of course but the recording of the drums is excellent with the guitar running across the outside
@slaw it really is such a great record. He recorded it in multiple spots and they all sound great but a couple of the tracks just stand above. The AP reissue is so good.

Lee Morgan  - Afro Cuban
JJ Cale  - Troubadour  , Analogue Productions 33rpm 200gram,  just incredible SQ, "Hold On" is so perfectly recorded
