What time do you wear?

What watch, if any, graces your wrist? Does time matter? You know: time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana. Either way.

Bombaywalla, yes I have the black dial with the red GMT 24 hour hand and the stainless bracelet. I love this watch.
I wear a Victorinox watch that keeps perfect time and only cost me a mere few hundred dollars. I actually carry on occasion pocket knives that cost more.
"An iPhone! I wear it like a pocket watch. I have not had a time piece on my wrist for years. Wrist Watches are just BLING!"

Do you remember a time before digital time pieces? It was great. When asked the time it was always rounded. 5:08 was ten after five. 2:03 was two O'clock. People glanced at their watches and rounded the time and for some reason the world was a better place.

Bling? Not for everyone. There was and is plenty of watch wearers who wear them and depend on them to keep track of time.
I wear a Victorinox Alliance 241474. It's a nice quartz movement with a black dial, black leather strap and shows the date. That's all I personally need so it took me awhile to find something I liked with only the features that I needed. I guess it was similar to my quest to find my next integrated amp. Why pay more for features you'll never use?

It's too bad about Kodak. I live in Rochester so the bankruptcy really hits home. When I was a kid, Kodak employed 65,000 people here. I heard on the radio this morning that when they emerge from bankruptcy in September it will be down to 2,000. It's amazing to drive by the factory these days. Closed down businesses everywhere around it. Still, our economy here has rebounded quite well as all these ex Kodak employees started up dozens of small buisinesses in imaging, medical technology, chemicals and so on. This city would be nothing had it not been for George Eastman and Kodak.
Yes, I hope to someday step up from a quartz movement. I really enjoy wearing a watch. It's not uncomfortable to me and I don't like to have to pull a cell phone out of my pocket to say "it's four fifty three". I can totally understand why people collect watches.
I just bought a Hamilton Jazzmaster GMT auto. My intention was to buy a Hamilton Intramatic. My local dealer didn't have one with a bracelet so I decided I'd order one. I asked the guy which bracelet would come on the watch and he handed me the GMT. I put it on my wrist and both my wife and I were awestruck. The guy told me that if I bought a watch they had in stock, he would give me a great deal. He took $300 off retail which is very nice indeed. This watch is so beautiful I can't believe it.
Thanks Roxy. I always wanted an automatic that I could hand down to one of my boys. One of them really likes watches so he can have this one when I kick. We like to travel so the dual time aspect of the watch will make it fun on our next trip.
