What speaker would you replace Magnepan 2.7's with.
I have Classe Pre amp 5, Classe M700 amps, Classe 1.5 CD. I would like to get speakers with more head room. I listed to the Magnepan's at their maximum potential for long durations, not abusing the speaker. Some say that conventional cone speakers are the answer since that is what is used on stage. I have listened to Magnepan's for a long time. I like the wall of sound I get from my panel speakers.
I want to stay under $3000 used.
Thank you to all that offer advice,

I owned 2.7 nice loudspeakers but a bit grainy and hard. YMMV. Why not pick up a used 3.6? If not Hi-eff horns and ribbon systems are what I moved to after my time with maggies, sound labs, ML and a few other electrostatic planar and ribbon systems.I do enjoy ribbons but now its the hi-eff versions that move me.
Horns that can run on very low power would be considered hi-eff or high efficiency.Maggies are far from hi-eff;)
