What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report

I enjoy vinyl and digital (lately, with recent changes, vinyl actually sounds better than digital to me), BUT given what seems an overall preference for analog/vinyl on A'gon, I'm curious what the non-vinyl "1/2" is listening to. I tried to see if this was a previously posted question. Did not seem so.

This evening for me, it's Genesis (definitive edition remaster) "A Trick of the Tail".

@bdp24  - I asked because he similar to Tom Petty or Dwight Twilley at times, especially on his excellent album - "Find a Door".
@nutty  - I'm a big Crack the Sky fan too. Interesting story - Crack the Sky is not from Baltimore as many people believe. They were from Weirton, WV, a small steel town near Pittsburgh. Due to a record distribution problem, their first album was only readily available in Baltimore, so they built up a big fan base there, and many rockers in that city claim Crack the Sky as their own.

My college roommate was from Weirton, WV and was a big fan of his local band. We played a lot of Crack the Sky in College......
Victoria Williams' "Sweet Relief" benefit compilation. There are some great covers of Vic’s songs, by some great artist, on this CD.
The Jayhawks - "Hollywood Town Hall". Monster albums. Really fantastic stuff IMHO. One of the best from the early '90's. Helped put Americana on the map and helped bring the genre to my attention. Was lucky to see them back in the day. Great band....

@artemus_5  - Thanks. I'm glad you are enjoying some new music. I've found hundreds of great new tunes via Radio Paradise over the last 3-4 years. They keep improving the app and web player, greatly improving the user experience. And they have improved the sound quality over that period too, now including hi-res FLAC streams.

I still listen to Radio Paradise quite a bit, but I'm finding a lot more of my new music via the Discover Weekly feed on my Spotify premium account. Yes, it's a pay service, but I've found it to be worth the $10/mo. price. I don't know if the free version (ads) also has discover weekly.

Enjoy the music! That's what it's all about.

"Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit"
and
"The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas"

Jesus Jones - "Doubt"

I haven't listened to this CD in about 20 years. Brings back memories of good times......
Nutty,

Rod Stewart's - "Every Picture Tells a Story" is one on my all time favorite albums. It's darn near perfect. Was even rated #1 rock album of all time by one publication (sorry, can't remember the author). Not sure it's #1, but it is certainly in my top 5. It's a really, really good album.

@artemus_5  -
Head East 'Flat as a Pancake'

Nice one. I've always liked that album.

Greg,

The Doobie Brothers - "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" - Great album! How's the SACD? I have it on original vinyl.

Roger McGuinn - "Back From Rio"

This may be my last time listening to it on CD. Just found a copy on LP here in the US and ordered it tonight. I hope the vinyl version is at least as good as the CD.
Guys, did you see the newly announce LSD Tour? Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle and the Dukes and Dwight Yoakam. They have a stop here in Cincinnati on 6/20. Can't wait!
@nutty - I'm a big fan of  Crack the Sky. One of my college roommates was from Weirton, WV where Crack the Sky formed. Otherwise, would have likely never heard of them.

I think "Hot Razors in my Heart" is probably my favorite off of "White Music".

How about this one:

Crack the Sky - "Nuclear Apathy" from Safety in Numbers

I know many of you don't like this duo, but I think this is a great CD. Prior to tonight, I hadn't listened to it in a few years, but it was in heavy rotation back in the early '90's.

Indigo Girls - "Nomads, Indians, Saints"
Mark Knopfler - "Sailing to Philadelphia" - Some great songs on this one. Of course, great guitar playing too....
Having a rare evening of all CD playback. Tonights fare:

Big Head Todd and the Monsters - "Sister Sweetly"
Elvis Costello - "Spike"
dada - "Puzzle"

@ghosthouse - Thanks for the recommendations. I've heard a few other random tracks from Big Head Todd and the Monsters that I enjoyed. Actually, this morning, after reading your post, I streamed "Secret Mission" from their album - "Riviera". It's a good sounding track, but I don't love the album. It just doesn't live up to my expectations of the band, based on "Sister Sweetly". I'll check out your recommendations on Spotify.

I love Dada! I saw them on their 25th Anniversary "Puzzle" Tour last year. What a show! I see that a side band - 7Horse formed by Joie and Phil from Dada are on tour. Looks like we are going to cross paths on Nov. 12th in Milwaukee. I'll be in Milwaukee on business, and I'm going! Can't miss these guys.....
Elvis Costello - "All This Useless Beauty" - An excellent album that somehow does not get the attention it deserves.
BoDeans - "Joe Dirt Car"

This is the live 2-CD set. Excellent album. Would love to have been there for this one....
The Alarm - "Standards"

This is the greatest hits collection for The Alarm. Love it........
@mental - "Red Headed Stranger" is a classic and one of WIllie's best IMHO. Have you heard the "Red Headed Stranger Medley" on "Willie and Family Live"? It's fantastic, as is the whole album.
I'm going to have to pay attention to @mental - Putting on Jethro Tull - "Songs From the Wood" (but on vinyl).
@ghosthouse said:

Sharing music is one of the best things - it not theee best - about A’gon.

Totally agree. I came for the equipment, I stayed for the music..........
@ghosthouse - When "@" is not working for me, I close, then restart my browser, and it seems to work. Worth a try if/when "@" isn't working.......
