What's going on here!? Mirage Omnisat's + Omni S-10 vs Gallo Nucleus Reference II's

I am very interested in my fellow Audiogoners' informed opinions/thoughts:

I recently put away my Gallo's because I need to fix a little dent and tighten up at least one of the speaker posts. I finally located some of the original square-head rivets, so I'm finally going to do it, after many years of planning!

While my Gallos are out of commission, I decided to use a pair of the original Mirage Omnisats paired with the Omni S-10 sub....

Here's my conundrum: I CANNOT believe how much I am enjoying the Omnisats!? I am starting to wonder if when I put the Gallos back in my system I might not hear a very big difference?

The dispersion pattern of the Omnisats is very wide; probably not as wide as the 300 degree dispersion of the Gallo cylindrical tweeters, but it seems the effect is very similar. I know the sub is able to reproduce more of the low end than the Gallos but I never expected it to be so seamless! I know this specific sub was made to accompany the Omnisats but can there really be so much synergy?

What do you think?

Is my hearing just worst than I thought, or is there a place in the universe where a pair of tiny speakers with a perfectly matched sub can give the legendary pair of speakers like the Gallo Nucleus Reference II's a run for their money?

As always, I welcome and appreciate any thoughts you may have - especially if you have owned or heard either of these speakers for an extended period of time.

I have both - and love them both. To my old ears the Gallos are definitely brighter though. I think I prefer the Mirage Omnis for listening to music. I use a Gallo Due as a center speaker for either setup and it sounds pretty good to me.
