What is this?

Hi all, excuse my lack of knowledge here. I recently purchased a vintage turntable. It came with one of these. I know it fits a headshell. Other than that I have no idea what it is or how to utilize it? Any old school knowledge out there that can help identify? I don't know how to upload a photo here so I put it as my picture.

Thanks for the quick reply. No manual or markings of any kind. My curiosity gets to me. If it has a purpose to me I'll keep, if not perhaps someone else might. Cheers

If you have a volt meter you might try checking continuity and resistance from the RCA (just one??) to the pins on the headshell fitting.

I do not have a volt meter (as of yet) & yes just one RCA. Very confusing.
