What is the most memorable concert that you had attended so far?

I do not go to concert very often, maybe once or twice a year.

I listen to music mostly through my audio system as much as 4 hours a day.

The most memorable concert that I had attended is the solo recital by Nathan Milstein held at Auditorium of UC Berkely on 1983.

He is one of the virtuoso violinist of the 20th century.

But he was 79 when he played at the recital on 1983.

When he played Partita by Bach, it was not his best.

Although he showed some of his skills, he could not keep up with the fast tempo as much as I wanted.

But as soon as he started playing "
César Franck, Violin Sonata in A Major.
".

I just marveled at the sweet sound of violin.

I could realize why he is one of the virtuoso violinist of the 20th century.

He died on 1992 so it is now impossible to attend his live recital again.

How about you ladies and gentlemen?

What is the most memorable concert that you had attended?

I’ve been to many hundreds of live shows over the last 40+ years. I was fortunate to get a job with Andy Frain Security when I was 17 years old, working concert security at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. At that time, Rupp was the largest indoor basketball arena in the country, so it drew all of the big shows of the day. I saw the Stones "Some Girls" tour on my first paid night of duty. How great is that? Getting paid to see The Stones! Also saw The Who, Rush, Kiss, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, The Cars, Parliament/Funkadelics, and all of the other big shows of the day. It was a great job, working with a bunch of cool people (mostly, except a few people power-trippin). Was luck to see the ELO "Flying Saucer" Tour at Rupp (not working).

Here’s a good one: The Tall Stacks Music and Heritage Festival in Cincinnati 2003. If you were a fan of Americana, as I was (and still am), it was an unbelievable lineup. and All for $12! Tall Stacks 2003 Lineup:

I still go to a lot of live shows. Two weeks ago I saw Bettye Layette, Emmylou Harris and Courtney Barnett over a 5 day period. Great stuff!

I love bands/artist that can convey emotion. Two of the best shows I’ve seen in the last few years was Shovels and Rope (twice) at The Madison Theater in Covington, KY. Up close, and personal, this duo can match anyone for raw emotion.

Lastly, one of the best arena shows I’ve seen in the last 20 years was Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band w/Tom Morello for the "high Hopes" Tour. Simply spectacular. My best Stadium show in that period - U2 "Joshua Tree" tour (Louisville, KY and Indianapolis, IN)

And as Uberwaltz mentioned, your first show has to be on the list. My First rock show was: 1/1/77 – Blue Oyster Cult / Uriah Heep / Head East - Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY. It was magical!

Live Music Rule! Enjoy, and go out and support your favorite musicians.......
I took my wife to see Elton John last night. It was a complete surprise to her. She thought we were driving to Columbus, Ohio to pick up something I bought on Craigslist. She didn't know where we were going until the second we turned into the venue and I told her where going to see Elton John. Her reaction was priceless. Complete emotional breakdown! She's a big fan and has been wanting to see Elton John for the 25 years I've known her.

Anyway, we had PERFECT seats. I bought unsold VIP seats 2 days before the show when they were turned back to the venue (and at about 30% of the original VIP Price!). 10th row, dead center, completely unobstructed view of Sir Elton about 25 feet directly in front of us.

I can't saw it was the best concert I've ever seen (I've seen a lot!), but it was very, very good. But the experience was one of my best ever. My wife was in heaven, completely beside herself with joy. Wow! What a moment. Memorable, to say the least.
@shkong78 - Sound was pretty good, for a 19,000 seat arena. All of the speakers were hung up high, so no obstruction of the view. The subs, were on either side of the stage, down at floor level. We were dead center and up very close. So, the sound was good, but very loud. Wish I had taken my earplugs, but I forgot them.

I wend to the restrooms and bar back at the back end of the floor and there was much less volume of sound and the SQ was pretty good.

Can't complain at all, considering it was a big arena.
@n80 -  My wife does not enjoy music the way I do either. But, she's wanted to see Elton John for all of her life since she was an early teen. It was a joyful experience. I enjoyed the show quite a bit. But it was a joy and a blessing experiencing her reaction to seeing her lifelong idol. Priceless.
@shkong78 - I was always aware of Bruce Springsteen and had "Nebraska" on CD for years. However, I was never a Bruce Springsteen fan until I saw him live on the "High Hopes" tour in 2014. I was amazed at how good the show was overall and also how good Springsteen was as the front man. When he closed with the solo performance of "Dream Baby Dream", I was hooked forever. I've been to see him a couple of times since, and he never disappoints.

Just put on The Tubes - "What do you Want From Live" 2LP Live record. Brings back great memories of seeing the Tubes on tour shortly after this album was released. Seriously, maybe the craziest live show I ever saw. Was an incredible experience for a young farm kid from KY.
