What is "break in" and what difference does it make? In amps? Preamps? Speakers? More?

Hi folks,

Newbie question. I read often about a break-in period for speakers, amps. Can someone explain what this means, technically and to the listener's ears?

Is there a difference in what one hears when it comes to speaker break-in vs. component break-in?

Are there levels (quality) where break-in makes no difference?

Thanks.

The 2 places are the creation of the same spirit....If so where is any object?
Ya know , there was a time when every single one of us was new to not only high end audio but forums too. I'm still a relative newb to high end audio myself. I've only been visiting high end audio forums about a year. I've been ridiculed for my ignorance regarding the different aspects of audio systems. I've asked basic audio questions only to be made fun of or dissed for asking questions that have been asked many times before. Let's try and remember we were ALL new to this at one time and show some patience and understanding, no matter how many times a topic has been discussed. You always have the option of moving on to another topic if the current one doesn't interest you. The bottom line is to have fun. That's what the high end audio hobby is all about. Being overly critical can quickly take the fun out of forum visits. My 2 cents.
You are right and those who mock other human being dont own the right to be listen to... My best to you...
