what effect does fire/heat/soot on digital equiptment?
i had a fire outside my home theater room. the heat was sufficient to melt plastics and crack windows in the room. I had a Meridian system installed. the system was about 20 years old. Is there any value to testing the components?
This is why people carry insurance. Also a great way to get something better. However, how much is a 20 year old system worth. I would think a 20 year system would have also reached far beyond its life expectancy.
