What do you drive and why?

Just got a 2019 Subaru Forester. Had a 2012 till someone decided to T-bone me on the drivers side. The car held up very well to the impact. Walked away even though the damage was such insurance called it a total loss. Safety was a main consideration in getting the new one, plus the AWD system, improved mileage and reliability of the brand. Had an older Honda CRV (2006) and almost bought another, great small SUV.
So what do you drive and why?

I just checked Virginia International Raceway website. Is it that a person cannot come with her/his own car without being a member of some club? Did I miss the option of coming alone?
While we are at the subject of driving, what do you girls/guys think about AXPONA? Is it worth driving hundreds of miles, 13-14 hours of straight driving I think, to visit it? Is any of you going?
butchwillis,

Once upon a time, Ferrari made an audiophile leap and had SACD and DVD-Audio player in their car., It was 612. The stereo was made by....Bose.
thamilton1,

When does it qualify as a Lemon? Probably not yet, but the story is quite impressive for 400 miles.
Lots of Porsche and Subaru love around here. Many owners or prospective owners.

Does anyone notice that this may be one of the friendlier threads on Audiogon? No fighting, no insults, really pleasant. Thank you 2psyop.

"Next car will definitely be a stick."
If you want a stick, you’d better be quick. Soon, you will have two brands left, or something like that.

For me, the best car stereo has been Meridian in Jaguar XJ. Burmester in S-class coupe comes second (which was a surprise to me).

"Any suggestions for a replacement for the Saab?"
Volvo V90 (NOT the "cross country" variant). The only real downside is no spare tire.

True, at times, it is about motorcycles. Cars, get out of the way.
joshfilm,

You are my hero. At least when it comes to that Subaru. I assume it was 4-wheel-drive. Have you ever met the other guy who bought one of those cars? I mean, you are really my hero.

How is the Tesla heating in those Canadian winters? I heard that is a weak point. Also, to touch some audio-related topic, have they finally made it possible to attach some source in a non-Bluetooth way or USB ports are still just for charging?
The detail that rarely, if ever, gets mentioned about Jaguar E-type is that is unusually spacious inside. For that kind of car, of course. It is slightly tricky to get in, but once inside, there is enough head, elbow, knee, and even foot room for a 190+ cm driver. Way better than any of the newer ones I am aware of. It even has a usable trunk. Cleaning wheels (spokes) is royal pain, though. And it is not hybrid so your mileage will not vary. It will be low.
My experience with TR7 was quite positive. It was not my car but I drove it and was driven in it often. It was an aberrant one, never broke down, never any issue. From the stories, it might have been the only one they put together right. Orange.
“Englishness” probably means a lot of fun to have in the shop.
For whatever reason, it seems that they have improved lately. And now they are even outsourcing engines so reliability may improve further.
jbmac75,

I turn my head to take another look at every Impala that passes me by, whichever direction.
