I am not sure if it is the absolute best cartridge,but I have an ortofon spu royal on my SME3012 and from all I have read and personal experiance its a very good match.This combination is trouncing the nottingham anna 12" and koetsu black combo mounted on the other side of the table and I am saving for a superior cartridge to mount on the anna.
