What are your top 3, or more, favorite music types,

Much of my current music likes have to do with my individual history and the maturation process.  That said:

1.  Classic American Jazz from the 1940s through the 1970s

2.  Female vocals, especially doing standards and Jazz standards.  Ella, Billie, Diana Krall and very much Dinah Washington.

3.  And this I would have to use the qualifier word "some"....as in some classic Rock and Roll from about 1960 to
the end of the British invasion and the American bands of that time.

4.  Many that would generally be called "classical music".   I must admit that I am not in the norm as far as what most would see as "real" classical music.  Not as much Bach and company as I would lean towards Gershwin, Copland and others.

5.  It is deeply entrenched into my families background, but I do not have a taste for modern/commercial country music.  Early artists like Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and a few others are good, but still not what I spend much time with.

6.  Some "show" music be it Broadway or film, but most of that is rooted in classic, Jazz, pop..or other influences, including early in the film industry classical was used more than it seems today.

7.  And a big prejudice of mine, any music performance that has my children or friends playing.

...and yours?

Indie Rock (including electronic music) from the mid 90's till now. I listen to this the most. What I like about it is the creativity the artists are portraying.

Jam Bands / This includes the Grateful Dead, Phish, moe., etc. Again very creative

Folk music from the 60's till now. There is a real purity to this type music
