What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

Thank you.   Feeling like Job lately.
And Qobuz has been meeting my needs very well.  Highly recommend for the price.
Finished up Bobbie Gentry’s Delta Sweete this morning. This album just drew me in. She certainly has an engaging voice, and the song selection is incredible. And it had the added advantage of calming the dog during a thunderstorm.

Chris Connor - Chris Connor

Qobuz
Didn’t last long. She went back to her safe space.  But at least I learned something about the music business.
John Coltrane - Both Directions At Once: The Lost Album (Deluxe Edition)

Qobuz Hi-Res
Calming Music For Dogs

Qobuz

Our new pound puppy has been stressed out since the tornado hit our house last week.  Still stays in the closet most of the day when she hears thunder.  A little light jazz to relax her.  Search “Music for dogs” in Qobuz.   Who knew this was a whole sub-genre.
The Interrupters - Fight The Good Fight

Qobuz Hi-Res

Some good LA punk/ska to get the juices flowing on this rainy, dreary day.

Well, going through a few end of the year “Best Of…” lists to find out what I missed.     First of:

Japanese Breakfast - Jubillee

Qobuz Hi-Res

Nice start   Not sure how I missed it, but glad I found it   I have a soft spot for acoustic female singers, so I sat right down in my chair and was in bliss.

Mdou  Moctar - Afrique Victime

Qobuz Hi-Res

Multi-layer, complicated rhythm that will transport you.

Almost forgot…I listened to Morcheeba - Big Calm this weekend on Qobuz at CD quality.  It hit all my wants and needs for that moment.

Snail Mail - Valentine

Qobuz Hi-Res

Dreary and depressing. Couldn’t really finish it.

@reubent

First time listening to Morcheeba.  I may be listening to them more in the future.

So, I just opened up Amazon Music on the BluOS app.  Discovered that just about every CD and LP I have bought on Amazon over the past 20+ years is accessible.   Kinda weirded out by this.
The Miles Davis Quintet - The Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions

Qobuz Hi-Res

Nick Cave - La Panthère des neiges (Original Soundtrack)

Qobuz Hi-Res

My internet connection has been hinky the past few weeks.  Enough drop-outs to interfere with my music listening.  Oh yeah, and my wife works from home so there’s that…

Finally called Xfinity about it.  They came by this morning and quickly identified the problem (junction box servicing this cul-de-sac).  So now my (music) streaming is regular and my wife started her vacation today.

Claudia Thompson - Goodbye to Love

Qobuz Hi-Res

oh yeah! just what I need! A good torch singer!

@uberwaltz ,  Have a Merry Christmas.   And the same to the rest a ya, ya filthy animals!

Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Session

Qobuz Hi-Res

I was really surprised to find this on Qobuz, and in Hi-Res at that!  I was a grad student in Austin and had just discovered him when he died.  Ended up buying up lots of his stuff, including a bootleg of his Alpine WI Concert.   Never saw this album.

Quinteto Violado - 25 Anos Não São 25 Dias, Edição Histórica

Qobuz

A good accessible album for initial exposure to northeast Brazilian forro music.  Upbeat, danceable, fun to listen to.
MPB Vibes - Various Artists

Qobuz

A great compilation covering lots of the favorite songs of Brazilian pop music.
Cindy Bullens - Desire Wire
Qobuz

The Washington Post has a nice write-up about Cidny Bullens new album, the first since his gender-reassignment surgery. Thought I would check out some of the earlier stuff.
Thelonious Monk - The Jazz Collection Volume One and Two

The MA Recordings Audiophiliac HiRez Music Sampler 2020

Uncompressed Hi-Res free downloads from the Audiophiliac .
Dick Hyman - Moog: The Electric Eclectics Of Dick Hyman
Qobuz.

Early EDM to mix it up a bit.
Herbie Mann - Impressions of the Middle East

Qobuz

I bought this album a few years ago for the cool cover. Never got around to listening to it. Oh yeah, that’s why I switched to streaming...
I was tempted to buy it off of her, but wasn’t sure of a fair price and I didn’t want to go down the rabbit hole. She’ll sell it on Facebook and she’ll get something for it and someone will get a good deal. If you know someone in the DC area who is interested in a gray plinth Garrard 301 in working condition have them contact me and I’ll connect them with her.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  To start the celebrations off right, this morning I listened to a couple of Céline Dion records I digitized a few years ago for my mom:

Chants Et Contes De Noël

Chante Noël

Lang Lang - Bach: Goldberg Variations

Qobuz Hi-Res

beautiful day, alone at the house with the dog. Perfect music for a quiet Sunday afternoon.
Emily Barker - A Dark Murmuration of Words

Qobuz Hi-Res

phcollie, thanks for the suggestion.  Loving it!
