What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

Pat Metheny - From This Place

Analog Africa Playlist (Excellent curation)

Qobuz Hi-Res Offline Library on my iPhone

Great Music is great music.   I don’t think anyone would criticize someone else’s taste on this forum, as each of our tastes are so eclectic.   And that’s one of the advantages of streaming over vinyl, isn’t it...easier to get out of your box and hear new stuff.

Taylor Swift - Folklore

Qobuz Hi-Res

So there!  Her best in quite a while.  Strong hooks and deep lyrics.  And it makes you look relevant to the younger generation.
If you REALLY want to get out of your comfort zone, remember my philosophy:  everyone needs more accordion in their lives.  Damn the cowbells!

Seriously, zydeco, Cajun and forro will always make you happy.
So, just speaking with my granddaughter.   She hasn’t had a chance to listen to Taylor Swifts new album, but it is on her list.  She recommended Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory” and I recommended Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon”. That constitutes a successful inter-generational exchange in my book

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory

Qobuz Hi-Res

oh, dear...not at all what I expected.  Need to go back to my happy place.   Need more accordion.

Sorry, missed the subtleties there.  I do that, especially in written form.   Still, I did get in a plug for accordion music.  That doesn’t happen every day.  Remind me one day to tell you a story about an accordion, my grandmother and both my (nonconcurrent) wives.
Samurai Accordion - Te
Qobuz

If it wasn’t for streaming on Qobuz I never would have found this.  Absolutely fascinating!  Five accordionists from around the would, each with different musical styles, coming together for a Japanese-inspired accordion album.  Sounds bats**t crazy but it works.  And they look badass.

Peter Green - In The Skies

Qobuz.
I had this album for a couple years, but never got around to cleaning and listening to it.

No need to apologize.   When those interesting albums do become available I will certainly check them out. Anything available for streaming you could recommend?

If you REALLY want something different, I have a few suggestions 😉

Katy Dey’s album kept my attention, but she seemed to me to be a clone of Billie Eilish...so much ambient sound effects!

Laurence Pike I found intriguing.  Experimental(?) music that was oddly engrossing

Neither one are my usual listening, but overall an afternoon well spent. I might search out more Laurence Pike in the future.

Will check out Mark Knopfler in the future

I don’t think I’ve seen you on this forum.  Didn’t I see you a lot when I hung out more on the “what’s on your turntable” forum?
Pat Metheny Group - American Garage

Qobuz Hi-Res

Realy glad all their ECM stuff got posted finally in Hi-Res!    Eleven albums for your listening pleasure.  This might take me a while...

my favorite recent quirky discovery:

Samurai Accordion - Te

I found it on Qobuz.
Brian Eno and John Cale - Wrong Way Up
 Qobuz

One of the reasons I love Qobuz. How could I have missed this album when it was released?
Babel Gilberto - Agora

Qobuz Hi-Res

Babe, Gilberto - Tudo

Qobuz

Brazilian singer, daughter of Joao Gilberto, what’s not to like?
Mark Knopfler - Down The Road Wherever

Qobuz

i have been a big Dire Straits fan since college.  Nice to get caught up.  Thanks, N80, for pointing this out.
The Coronas - True Love Waits

Qobuz Hi-Res

A little Irish indie rock to break things up.  Perfectly nice for a rainy
Saturday afternoon.
I heard an Enya song this evening on a commercial and realized I hadn’t listened to her in dogs years.  One of the first CDs I ever purchased.  My first wife used to listen to her first album ad nauseum...maybe that’s why I haven’t listened to it since.
Enya - Watermark

Qobuz.
Beausoleil- “Cajunization”
Various Artists- “Forro Total!”
Ahmad Jamal - “The Legendary Okeh and Epic Recordings”
Mixture - Ponta de Areia

Qobuz

The title song is a nice mellow acoustic version of the Milton Nascimento classic.    Wonderful performance.  The rest of the album is just as charming.
I just read that Pat Metheny’s entire ECM catalog will be dropped tomorrow in 96kHz / 24bit Hi-Res!  I hope it shows up on Qobuz...
Tornado this morning. Tree fell on my house. No power. Out for the count. See you in a few days
One of the real benefits of streamer is you don’t have to be too concerned about the economics of the format.   Have you ever bought a collectible LP just to find out it was damaged or you didn’t like it?   That’s why I am really liking Qobuz right now.  Doesn’t cost more to try things out.
BTW, power back on yesterday.  Think I saw my house on ABC news last night as part of tornado coverage.  Luckily most of the damage was concentrated on the side of the house opposite from my system.  Can’t listen to music yet because the water mitigation equipment in the basement is so loud.  Glad I can download Qobuz onto my iPhone and listen on headphones.

Yep, heard about Trini Lopez passing away this morning.  Never listened to him much; he was more my parents generation.  I listened to his first album today, and I have to say he was quite the entertainer.
Mary Chapin Carpenter - The Dirt and The Stars

Qobuz Hi-Res

The water mitigation crew finally took their fans out of the basement, I’ve got this old shirt on down in Mary’s Land, listening to her latest album. Things are slowly returning to normal. Life is good.
