What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

@bdp24 - Great story. Not too many world renowned musicians from Cincinnati, except Adrian Belew. On the other hand, we do have more than our share of Audio Reviewers who write for the big Audiophile rags.

BTW, have you listened to Robben Ford and the Blue Line? Wow, what a record. Great songs, great musicianship and a really good sounding CD. I'll need to look for it on vinyl.
I'll go with "personal experience". But I am frugal by nature, so I will not over-spend if I don't hear a difference.
@pokey77 - I just saw The Alarm a couple of weeks ago. Was hoping for a good show, because I love The Alarm, but my expectations were low because it's really only Mike Peters from the original band. It was Awesome! Great show, in a tiny theater that seats only 300. Everyone stood and sang through the whole show. Mike and the band, including Mike's wife Jules, were outstanding.

I've loved The Alarm since I first heard 68 Guns back in the day. They did not disappoint and I will see them again when they come back. Heck, I might even travel to one of "The Gathering" shows.
@uberwaltz - I don't have "Road Games", but I'll have to check it out. Have you hear "Metal Fatigue"? Been diggin' it since I heard it playing in a record store in 1985. Great Stuff.....
@uberwaltz - Let me know what you think of "Metal Fatigue". I've always liked it and still listen to it after buying it over 30 years ago....
David Ball - "Thinkin' Problem"

One of my favorite country albums of all time. If modern country sounded like this, I'd be a listener.....
@maplegrovemusic - I was never much of a Springsteen fan. Of course I was familiar with him and liked some of his stuff, like "Darkness on the Edge of Town", "Atlantic City", etc. But that all changed when I saw him live on the High Hopes Tour.

It was an overall fantastic show, in my top 5, and I've seen many hundreds.... But the really outstanding numbers in the show were not the old standbys. The really outstanding numbers were the tracks off of High Hopes - "American Skin (41 shots)", "The Ghost of Tom Joad" and the finale - "Dream Baby Dream". Dream Baby Dream might have been the single most moving live music I've ever witnessed.

Good choice.........
The Association - "Never My Love" via Spotify

Quite possibly the greatest pop song ever written.........
@uberwaltz - I saw Larkin Poe open for, and play with, Elvis Costello at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville a couple of years ago. Those girls can bring it! Fantastic! I would pay to see them again, as an opener or headliner.
Had to finish up my Spotify Discover Weekly from last week before the new week's feed came through. It was an awesome week. Spotify's algorithm has got my taste figured out.

Interestingly, I'm somewhat of a Nick Lowe fan, but I had never heard his first single - "And So It Goes", but it was on my discover weekly. What a friggin' song. Holy Crap! What a debut....

@uberwaltz - Thanks for taking the time to check out Jimbo Mathus. I really like "White Buffalo" and it continues to grow on me every time I take a listen. "Dark Night of the Soul" also has a few great cuts.

Here's one that might be back in your wheelhouse - Focus -"Focus III" - Dutch Prog......
Deceptive Bends ... 10cc - Good one @uberwaltz

Listening to it now on vinyl......
Ass Ponys and Afghan Whigs via Spotify. A couple of Cincinnati's finest......
Frontier Folk Nebraska via Spotify. Another one of Cincinnati's finest......
@uberwaltz - I saw it posted by @millercarbon over on the "What's on your TT" thread. I haven't heard "Tap Root Manuscript" in 30 years or more. Pulled it up on Spotify and was mesmerized. Great album. I guess I'll be looking for copy.......
Walter Egan - "Not Shy"

1978, My High School Graduation Year. I remember "Magnet and Steel" and "Hot Summer Nights" playing on the radio. Good Times.........
Neil Diamond - "Tap Root Manuscript" via Spotify. Another play of this recently rediscovered gem.
@16f4  - Of course, there were lots of overplayed FM hits back in the late 70's. But 40+ years later, I can look back at them with fondness and enjoy the memory of the time period.

Here's a challenge for you: Without looking, stream "Magnet and Steel" and listen to the background singers. Who's singing the background vocals?

Have a good weekend, and don't listen to any crappy 70's hits..... Except "Magnet and Steel"
The Trews - "Live From Montreal" via Spotify. Not the best set I've ever heard from The Trews, but it's not bad.

Anyone here ever seen The Trews live? Great live band.....
Frontier Folk Nebraska - "This One's for the Kids in the Back: Live at the Southgate House Revival" via Spotify.

I was at the show that was recorded for this album. I was one of the kids (59 year old kid) in the back.
@uberwaltz - "I have never even heard of The Trews, never mind heard them....."

That's because you're not Canadian........ Or your unlucky, I guess!

I saw the Trews when they opened for Dada on the "Puzzle - 25th anniversary tour". Was totally blown away and went searching for content. Found lots of stuff on YouTube and now on Spotify.

We're living in the golden age and most folks don't even know it......

@16f4  - "Guitar Town" is a great album, and a great title track. Made me a Steve Earle fan for life.
It's Monday! Streaming my new Spotify Discover Weekly playlist. Good Stuff.
The Hot Spot (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) via Spotify

John Lee Hooker
Miles Davis
Taj Mahal

How can you go wrong?
Tomorrow - S/T via Spotify

A very young Steve Howe, before YES. Cool album. Early British Psychedelic.......
@uberwaltz - I saw Larkin Poe open for, then play with, Elvis Costello at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. They were AWESOME!
@uberwaltz - I think the thread has done pretty well. Yes, there are times when you are the only poster, but then others join back in. I came here this evening to post what I'm streaming. I try to listen to vinyl most of the time, but I don't have deep enough pockets to buy all of the vinyl I want. So streaming, at $10 a month for Spotify Premium, gets me access to almost anything I want to sample, or play, when I don't own the vinyl.

BTW, I was on vacation for the last week, skiing in Colorado. I downloaded multiple caches from Radio Paradise and streamed them on the plane to/from Cincinnati to Denver. As always, found a few gems that I added to my playlist.

So tonight, streaming Chris Hillman - "Bidin' my Time" via Spotify Premium.

Keep up the good fight. There's room for multiple music threads.
Catching up on my Discover Weekly on Spotify. I've discovered so much good music on my weekly push from Spotify. Just heard "Big Black Bird" from Blitzen Trapper for the first time. Very nice. I dropped it into my discovered playlist for future listening.
