What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

Hi Reg19 and welcome.

No expert here but.

My experience is that Qobuz sounds better than Tidal.

Have never had an Apple tv but not surprised it is bottom of the list in sq, I do have 3 Chromecast Audio pucks and imho they are the best bang for the buck for streaming on the market, pity Google discontinued them.
Again not familiar with the HEOS app but I am going to hazard a guess here as I see the same thing when streaming Qobuz via my phone.

You likely need to check the streaming while mobile permissions for the apps on your phone. Default is usually set to some lower quality to save data charges etc. I set all of mine to highest possible which was 192/24 for Qobuz.

That right there could explain a lot if you are streaming at vastly different rates from the differing devices and services.

Good luck
@reubent .

Guess I should have said IMHO... Lol.

Tbh, the whole album is pretty darn excellent!

Have a great weekend yourself and to your family!
Young Lions ... Adrian Belew

Top cut is the duet with David Bowie , Pretty Pink Rose.

Qobuz
@reubent

I actually thought it was pretty good but it was late so was listening through my headphones which always changes things somewhat.

Maybe not quite as good as some earlier stuff but one song stood out for me , Neutral, although all were good.

If they came down here to Jacksonville I would see them for sure.
@reubent

Ok Strength is a fair bit better than Equals after a relisten.

The Alarm deserved to be where U2 ended up pity they had to live in their shadow.

I mean when did U2 do anything like "spirit of 76" or " the day the Ravens left the tower"

Pure class.
@reubent

What is the Spotify SQ like?
Last I checked ( quite a while ago ) it was streaming at a much lower rate than Tidal or Qobuz?
@reubent .

I only have access to the small selection on Qobuz for now.

I guess I could look for vinyl on Discogs.
Which would you recommend to buy?

I liked Nuclear Apathy and From the Greenhouse a lot.
@reubent

Thank you.
Just bought Safety in Numbers ( vinyl)  of Discogs so will see when it arrives.
@reubent .

Way too funny!

I guess Tidal missed me ... Lol.
Just signed up for an offer they sent 3 months at $0.99 a month.
And looks like full catalog of Crack the Sky.

So can listen up on a few albums.
N80.

Interesting is a good description. Not really up my street but definitely interesting!.

And as there was discussion on Santana latest less than stellar offering I dug into the Qobuz files.

Welcome ... Santana.

Qobuz hires.

Much more like the Diva!
drlisz

My ten cents worth here....
Give Qobuz a trial, its just $14.99 a month ,has plenty of full hires titles right up to 24/192 and none of the Masters MQA malarkey that Tidal has.

I been there and tried them all and Qobuz is the keeper.
IMHO, YMMV.
Out in Kentucky again this week so not much action on music front.
Although I did find a good LRS and bought some more vinyl and cassettes.
Just what I need ... Lol.

But did find near mint copy of Crack The Sky S/T vinyl for cheap so all good!
Zarathu.

Thank you for the heads up on the PrimePhonic streaming service.
Never heard of it but I am sure some of our classical lovers will find it most interesting indeed.
Greg

Where are they playing that you are going to see them?
Sound like an awesome night!
Nightmare ... Avenged Sevenfold.

Tidal.

Still my favorite album by my favorite hard rock band.
Did you like Western Stars?
It did not move me enough on first listen to buy it.
Now this Savoy Brown album is a different story,may have to add that to my collection.
Stuck in hellhole Dallas this week, nothing but WAY overpriced record stores here so nothing new for me.

And no still waiting for the darn Vette!
😞😞😞
The House of Gold and Bones parts 1 & 2 ...... Stone Sour.

Streaming Qobuz on the plane.
