MusicDirect is offering the pair of WHARFEDALE EVO 4.2 for $998:

I was not able to find any info about them on Wharfedale (UK) site.
Does anybody know anything about them?

 I haven't found a review on the EVO 4.2. However, What HiFi? has just released a very favorable (5-star) review on the EVO 4.4, one of two floorstanders in the new EVO 4 line.
Interestingly, there is still no information on this new line on Wharfedale's website.
I heard the floorstanders at RMAF this year. The sound really good. I would buy a pair of 4.2’s for sure at 1k, no doubt about it!

The build quality (veneer) was great as well.  The white oak one in the ad look nice!

I thought the mids and highs were fantastic.  These will def. be on my radar
The whole new line is missing from Wharfedale's  site when they should advertise them 24/7. That's beyond my understanding.
 The new Evo 4 line is now on the Wharfedale website. The high end Elysian series is also featured.
Music Direct shows their sensitivity at 90db but the Wharfedale site shows 87?

Anxious to hear more about these but would like to know what the sensitivity really is.
I have them...in white oak to...I have a thread on them over on Audio Karma in the New Gear section, they are pretty damn special I can say that...😉
I got EVO 4.4.  i am utterly impressed by the sound. These speakers going to create a history for sure. let’s see.
I have a pair of Wharfedale EVO 30's. Even though this pair of speakers are 17 years old, they still make beautiful music in my wife's system. Still have very competitive sound for their age.
Still not much out there about these. May try to call MD about the sensitivity.
Just heard the evo 4.4s at the capitol audio fest. Astonishing. Absolutely gorgeous midrange with airy silky highs (Eva Cassidy recording). Palpable 3d holographic imaging and natural tone and timbre. Oh, and rich yet controlled bass :)

They are on my list of "make me happy for under 5k" speakers for sure. These, zu audio, and spacial m3s were all stunning performers at the show in this range.
dvdboulet, the chef?

I also heard the $999 Evo 4.2s at Capitol Audiofest and they sounded much better than I expected.  Definitely worth an audition if they are in your price range.  The Mofi/Wharfedale room was using a Rogue Audio Sphinx which doesn't seem to get great reviews from owners online, so I think they can sound a lot better (and I own a Rogue Cronus Magnum II amp and like it quite a bit so I'm not biased).
I have a Rogue Cronus Magnum too. If it can drive these with ease I am very interested.

How was the bass?
" What was powering the 4.4’s at CAF?"

thankfully I remembered to take a photo of the equipment list :) and for that system (which IMO was producing remarkable, natural, airy sound):

* Warfedale Evo 4.4 speakers ($1995 pr)
* Quad Vena II Integrated Amp ($1395)
* Quad Artera Play CD Player/DAC/Preamp ($2195)
* Isotek Sirius Power Conditioner
(not sure of cables)

The room (556) was sponsored by "The Audio Hunters" & "The Vinyl Revivers"

This video of the EVO 4.2 just went up on YouTube. This guy is a European audio dealer and always gets the most incredible sound in his video demos, and the 4.2s are no exception!
