I have owned a Marantz PM 17 integrated amplifier in early 2000s and really liked it. It was listed as having 60 watts per channel but played more powerfully than that, with high current. Later, I bi-amped it with a Sm 17 power amp. It generated 200 w/c in bi-amp mode and also sounded very good, but with my 90 dB sensitive speakers, all that power was not really needed compared to the PM 17 integrated amp alone. The reviews were all good, except for one. The front and center temperature gauge was a nice touch. I eventually sold them and bought a tube integrated amp. I presently use a Marantz 14s1 integrated amplifier.
Two months ago a Marantz PM 17 integrated amp appeared on The Music Room for $700, and I considered buying it as a back-up or second system amp, but it sold rather quickly. If you see one in good shape for a good price, it should be worth it. It was built like a tank and also had a switch for 110/220 outlets and good top to bottom coherence.
