Wanting to know if New Technology Subwoofer /OLD

I was wondering if anyone can comment on say older Subwoofer technology say Mirage BPS 400 is old tech and is say Rel or SVS much better or same tech
Meaning like to go as low as 21 HZ are the amps wattage more efficient today with lower cost or basically the same.
