Wadia 861

How does the 861 compare to the competition, ARC CD3, Electrocompaniet EMC-1Up, Krell, Ayre, etc? TIA.

Neither Wadia is edgy or graining by itself. Compared to the ARC or the Ayre, the Wadias are in a different league. The Wadias also cost more.
