Interestingly, both units use different tubes, the VTL 12AX7s, the Rogue 6SN7, yet the reviewer finds them rather similar.

VTL 5.5 vs. Rogue Magnum 99: Pretty much equals?
According to Chip Stern, Stereophile, the Rogue 99 was superior in some ways to the VTL, but were so close he almost considered them of equal level. These are two units I'm interested in, and wondered if anyone had the opportunity to listen to both units.
