I use a Victory, which is very similar to the Discovery. Yes, you want a negative VTA. The bottom of the cartridge should be just low enough that you won't risk making contact with the record. The same was true with my Clearaudio Sigma.
VTA for Discovery cartridge
I've just mounted my Clearaudio "Discover" cart. When I read the spec, I realise that it says there's a white line on the side of the cart that's supposed to be perpendicular to the record surfact for correct VTA. However, it will mean a highly negative VTA. By highly I mean so apparent you can see the tail dropping even 10 fts away at the listening position. I doubt if this is the case? Any Discovery users care to share?
