VPI vs JV

I can't be the only reader of this site who has been watching the dialog between HW and JV over at TAS.  I recall, many many years ago, when HP used to promise the next chapter in the shoot-out between component X and Y, and rarely if ever followed-through, but an hoping hoping hoping that HW takes up JVs offer to do the head to head.  Wow.  Rare that this type of thing happens in view of us plebes.  I am thinking, maybe be 100% wrong, that a man of passion, principle, and experience finally has had enough and is sure of his views to follow-through. I can only hope.
