VPI Classic vs. Well Tempered Amadeus

Both of these turntables are priced very simular. Who out there has compared the two turntables? Which one did you like and why?

Thanks.

There is an anecdote around somewhere how Firebaugh put together a deck at a trade show with parts from everyday life. The golf ball may have been a part of that build. While this may seem over the top kooky, in the end it is the essence of function which is at the heart of the Well Tempered Turntable and Arm.

Once set up properly the feel of the arms resistance to the thick fluid and no bearing is at first very unusual. Using the CBS Seven Steps LP tonearm resonance test can be very interesting with any tone arm with one exception, the WT.

I'm not sure I get the new Well Tempered decks. The older versions seemed to have better adjustability and an isolated motor.

As to the VPI for a couple of hundred dollar more I'd rather have the three speed Clearaudio Performance with magnetic bearings.
