Voodoo bass enhancers?

Final thoughts on the Sony XA777ES redbook performance: I'm happy with it. A better A/C powercord sweetened the sound. CDs played which are thin and distant-sounding--forget it. CDs with a goodly amount of hall ambience are excellent, and thick orchestral textures in climaxes are delivered with power and transparency. Strings are particualarly warm, even on CDs with a house sound that can be frequently garish. (Chandos, you know who you are.) Here's the question though: it's too complicated to have the player modded for better mid-bass. What's up with "stablilizers" and "feet" that seem to enhance bass. Do they work?
