Volume Shoots Up on Integrated Amp

A few times recently, when I changed radio stations on my Squeezebox Touch, the volume on my Myryad MI240 integrated amp started soaring. In these instances (but far from always) the manual volume control suddenly did not work and I was able to control the volume by the remote only before it blew up my Vandersteens. Kind of scary. It is mostly back to normal operation, but I am stumped. I am beginning to wonder whether it isn't some kind of software bug on the SB Touch that takes over the amp volume, but I haven't changed the software in at least a year. Opinions?
