By the 1980’s, Fisher’s stereo compacts were made in Japan.
I believe Fisher was being made by Sanyo at that time. I believe Emerson Radio was out of the picture by then.

Vintage 1980's Fisher MCE 4050 Audio component system question
I just purchased this Fisher and have been unsuccessful in finding any information.
I have several questions and hope this forum will be able to help me.
It has a full size turntable and cassette with AM /FM/LW/ SW Radio.
It has B& O speaker type connectors in rear.
Very well made and heavy. Quality excellent. Sounds great.
My questions are:
1. .I do not hear a Protection Relay Click...Does this unit have one ?
2. Label on the back states " Fisher Audio Component System "
Chatsworth Calif. / Made in Japan
Was this made by Sanyo ?
Any information would be much appreciated.
